Does Penn St hire Rhule

Honest question - when was the last time our HC was rumored for another job? Must have been at some point during Pelini's tenure.

It's refreshing in a way to have a HC that some people think is a logical Penn St candidate

In 2019 when FSU fired their coach, there was some speculation about Frost being on their list. Was that how he got his new contract?

There's a lot of reasons why I think Rhule will ultimately stay, including he's been openly critical of those PSU voices calling out Franklin.

Dannen is about to prove his worth trying to thread the needle on this contract and NIL negotiation with Rhule. If Rhule gets what he wants, I don't see him leaving.

I think you have to hope family wins out here. His wife starting up the business and daughters being in school with the one falling in love with the Nebraska volleyball culture here in state.

Nebraska is in a tough spot. I don’t know if Matt has proved it enough with results yet to justify us throwing a shit load of money at him and creating a huge buyout situation if he ended up failing 2-3 years down the road.

Will probably need to take the risk and try for the big money extension, as the alternative to a coaching hire and player turnover would be devastating.

A lot of hitting a home run when hiring a coach has mostly to do with luck. It seems like a lot of A hires on paper don’t work out.

I was contemplating making a thread about the defeat/apparent non existence of The Simulation™ because of our several one score wins and the ever elusive game winning drive that has finally occurred. Obviously glad I didn’t. It would only be fitting for this to happen after we are given a couple crumbs of success.

As said by others hopefully he just leverages this for more NIL to help the program. Next year should be the big year to make a run and then get a raise/extension but who knows.
