Gut is the move is too quick for Rhule to uproot his family and he knows he’s got something cooking here. In particular, knows that guys like Raiola don’t come around often.
Hope is he does negotiate some more NIL support out of it.

Apparently because Rhule and the AD are besties (that is the only reason I’m hearing, which is nonsense).
Even if the AD likes Rhule, his job would be to sell that to the fan base and boosters who would not be excited about the hire.

Honest question - when was the last time our HC was rumored for another job? Must have been at some point during Pelini's tenure.

Rumor was the winner of the 2012 Big Ten title game was getting the Arkansas job. We all know how that went. I think Bo’s name was also thrown around for the Miami job at some point.

Pelini, but I think it may have been more of his agent saying he was a candidate. I don’t think there was ever any smoke there but I could be wrong.
It honestly may be TO getting offered the CU job. Solich, Callahan, Pelini, Riley, and Frost where never hot commodities for schools that would outbid NU for their services.

I like Rhule, but if I am the guy paying off Franklin and buying out another coach’s contract, Cignetti is top of my list, as much as I dislike that arrogant prick. He sold his soul to Satan for wins, I would bet on that.
