If we’re putting tinfoil caps on, there is a chartered flight from State College to Omaha scheduled tonight…View attachment 60153

Who would do things this openly in the middle of the season (you'd have to be a moron to think word would not get out)? I don't know what the explanation is, but I can't believe whoever this is, is coming to see Rhule. This is also a short week. If he wants the job, so be it, but this would be a terrible betrayal of the team and the University.
there's also no reason to have an in-person meeting. at this stage it would all be going through intermediaries and his agent. if he wants to talk to his old boss about the job a phone call or zoom meeting would be just as good

Rhule wouldn’t talk directly with them at this point. His agent will commincate with them and will talk to Rhule. Same with other candidates. Then they can all deny talking to PSU about the job. A face to face would be later on when they are trying to close the deal with whoever they are going after. At least that makes the most sense to me.
Also Nebraska is going to play a football game at PSU later this year. If they wanted a face to face meeting, it could easily happen then.

The fans and how poorly they treated Franklin and his family is why I don’t believe Rhule will take that job. He spoke often how hard it was on him and the family in Carolina when things weren’t going well. Hell, Franklin was winning and he was consistently harassed by those weirdos.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the buyout that would have to be paid to Nebraska (presumably by the new employer) if Rhule left, which is $5M.

Yes, the Penn St buyout is nominally $50M, but it will be a lot less because Franklin will want a settlement that allows him to take a job he wants when he sees fit.
