My vote doesn't represent my desire.

At this point how could you not want him back? You know what is already in the program, no one on this board seems confident that is a success path, and you have no idea who you CAN get out of the portal. If he does decide to leave, you are expecting a guy to come in from the portal and earn the starting job in the spring. They would have to be here in January to even have a chance. It seems like a low probability for success next season going that route.

I just don't see how you can not have him back for another season. Why not give him another chance with a different set of coaches?

It's such an odd situation from top to bottom.

The biggest conundrum of all time. He is the reason we were in so many games, and the reason we lost so many. Greatest QB that couldn't win...I hope it's time to just try something else, but grateful for the leader and player he was. Wish things would have went better for him.

"I hope it's time to just try something else..."

This is what baffles me. What does try something else mean? WHO? Smothers? At least we will get a glimpse of what that can look like this week, but outside of that the "try something else" crowd doesn't make sense to me. I would get wanting him to move on if there was something solid in the program, something known. There isn't! You only want to see him go because you don't LIKE him. Most of the blame unnecessarily falls on his shoulders. Has he made some completely gamechanging mistakes? Yes, he has. Has he made an equal amount or more of big time plays where he's bailed out his utterly useless offensive line? Absolutely.

WTF do you want to try? Tell me specifically what you want to try that is a known upgrade over Martinez.

I’m kind of curious what Martinez could do with a new QB/OC and a better coached and more seasoned offensive line. But that’s a very small and tiny amount of curious.

I love Adrian. I think he's an incredible kid and a great player that will go down vastly underrated. I think Frost should personally usher him into a great spot that needs an athletic QB.

I don't want to try the same exact final results that we've seen for 4 years. After year 4 - we know what he is. At one point this season he had 15 Straight Drives with a chance to tie or win a game - 0 Points were scored on those 15 drives. This one game won't tell us all we need to know about Smothers, just like Michigan 2018 didn't tell us everything we needed to know about Adrian. But we do know what we have right now. A great kid and great athlete that absolutely disappears in the second half of the 4th quarter.

Fear of the unknown shouldn't equate to ignorance of a known commodity. He cannot close out and win games. Name me one coach that has lasted over 4 years that has tied their entire failing tenure to one single QB...

Funny looking back. Adrian had his ball security issues, but I'm curious how he would have done under a legitimate college football staff, like Rhule right now. There's no reason we shouldn't have gone to a bowl game every year with him. Too bad
