Rhule would never, ever ask anyone to do anything like this.You can break any contract, it has nothing to do with NFL vs college. Break the contract negotiate the settlement somewhere below what the 'damages' would be for breaking the contract. It IS that simple, it happens all the time. Walk out on the Texans or move on to the next candidate. What the fuck are we doing here.
Not having a DL coach in place during last years portal was a disaster and we're doing it again. This is a bad look, if this hire isn't worth the wait Rhule is going to have alot of splain'n to do. Between being at square one in both trenches in year 3 my trust is Rhule is on its last thread, this kind of bullshit is getting old.
Lol no it doesn't.Break the contract negotiate the settlement somewhere below what the 'damages' would be for breaking the contract. It IS that simple, it happens all the time.
Unless the DL coach is in the CFP with a chance to win it all there is no excuse for this position to be open right now. None.We do not know if Okam is even the guy. I am going to save my outrage for once we know who the DL coach is and the scenario.
Silverling Corch Rhule is the current DL coach and his hat is on backwards.
@pavelkasuncle any insight on this?
Uh yes it does...... Coaches negotiate contract release in the nfl ALL the time. No they don't just 'break the contract' out of nowhere its more professional than that but yes it abosofuckinglootly does. Hell Belichick even did it when he landed with NE a quarter century ago. There are coaches being released from their NFL contracts as we speak.Lol no it doesn't.
Not true. That’s not how the NFL works. You would have left your team in the middle of a playoff run.If you are a good coach you will be hired again regardless.

Im sorry you're not capable of understanding hyperbole.
He left his former team while they were in the playoffs eh?Uh yes it does...... Coaches negotiate contract release in the nfl ALL the time. Let me guess, you came from RSSIm sorry you're not capable of understanding hyperbole.
Remind me not to hire any engineers from NELet me guess, you came from RSS
My son is an engineer that graduated from NE. I had a brief moment of being worried that he had joined the forum and was making an ass of himself. Then I reminded myself that he’s intelligent, so all good.Remind me not to hire any engineers from NE
But couldn’t he be announced as coming to Nebraska without breaking the contract? That happens all the timeAs someone who works with contracts and contract management in both government and athletic fields and is a certified contract management professional.
You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Breaking contracts is not something that happens every day. Nor is it easy like you are saying.
Multiple layers into contracts, negotiating, restructuring and releasing. It is normal easier to negotiate and change at the end of the term. Which in this case is a season.
Breaking a contract would require lawyers, potential litigation etc.
