I know if a player was recruited, he can’t get moved to an “NIL scholarship” but could we theoretically get transfers to “walk on” and just give them huge NIL? Could that be a loophole we can exploit to get more transfers without impacting numbers? Sorry if this has been covered already.

Not if they’re a scholarship player at the school they’re transferring from. The transfer school has to assume the scholarship

In fairness to Dean, that was one of the deeper WR classes of the past decade or so. Any other year he probably does get taken top 3 or 4 rounds rather than the 7th.

Proud fucking Uncle here. My nephew, Parker, has been the starting center for Allen HS (Texas) for three years. I know that he had been offered by Coast Guard Academy and Merchant Marine Academy. This weekend, Air Force showed up to offer him. His coach told my brother that other schools wanted an in-home with him too.
Parker’s dream has always been to be a fighter pilot. My brother said Parker told AF no.
They hadn’t bothered to tell me that Parker had committed to USMMA back in May. I just found out minutes ago.
MMA was on him early and he stayed with them. The superintendent is given a few billets every year for Navy and AF pilots.
Proud Uncle tearing up over here fellas.
Parker will be the 7th straight generation of our family to serve our country.
