Dad of the year?

Don't think I'd give Dad of the year to somebody that let his 5 year old fall off a cruise ship.

Why do people do this stuff? It won't happen to me, just everyone else mentality. Of course when it comes to safety I'm OCD.

I'll never forget when we went to Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga and my kids were teens, they pushed my buttons by getting too close to the edge. I about freaking lost it.

A 5 year old up against the railing of the 6th floor of a ship would make me nervous. Sitting them on top of it is as stupid as it gets.

As someone who has been on numerous cruises, you have to really try to fall off a ship or do something insanely stupid. The rails are high everywhere on the ship.

still a no from me, letting your kid fall out of a 4 story window into the water is still a pretty big issue in my eyes.
Do you have kids? Have you ever been on a cruise? Although I would like to say I am a good parent, having been on cruises with littles it is impossible to constantly be one step behind them at all times. I think 90% time I am fully engaged watching every ounce of their movements because I'm nervous with kids on a cruise, but it's tough. Scary as a parent that you dropped your guard for a few seconds and this happened. I'd probably feel a lot different if it was true that the kid was set on the railing. The latter circumstance sounds like just more of a horrible accident.

Jumping off a cruise ship to save a kid is heroic. Allowing a 5 year old to fall off a cruise ship is bad parenting, in just about every conceivable way.

Maybe the actions cancel each other out and he’s just a normal dad then
