Monday was so much fun watching the college football world explode it's making Tuesday morning a big disappointment.

What do we think can happen today to spice it up a bit?

OU whiff on some candidates? (please baby, Jesus, please)

ND steal someone's coach like LSU stole theirs?

Texas get jealous of everyone getting headlines for spending big on a coach so they fire Sark and make a run at Belichek? (I'm winging it at this point)

I have the feeling that yesterday may have fucked up a few things for Nebraska. Maybe Riley taking the USC job convinced Sean Snyder to stay at USC and now we're out a ST coach?? Or Harrell is bailing. Maybe not but I heard from a few people that there was supposed to be an announcement yesterday and we got nothing so someone bailed last minute.

That's where I saw the tweet this morning. The way it was worded it sounded like Mickey had a chance to be retained because of Corey Raymond. I think if we don't see anything about Mickey by tomorrow by lunch time then that ship has sailed.

This could not have gone worse for Nebraska if this is the case. I thought this was the whole point of firing your staff early? They should have had these guys sign Sunday morning. Could you imagine if we lost out on Mickey, Harrell and Synder? I would die inside.

I mean yeah Scott basically needs a Plan A to come together perfectly right now. Sip said on his pocast today that Mickey is very likely to join the staff so I don't know what to say at this point on that one.

Two weeks before the early signing period. 3 weeks since the staff firings.

In a perfect world, the hiring should have been announced the day after the Cockeye game and in recruits homes trying to salvage anything they can with this class.

Pessimistically, if we don't have an offensive staff and these portal kids start signing in the next couple weeks, this is a total waste. We will be picking up the late signee scraps where we can and Frost's career will be riding on the arm of Logan Smothers.

They need to get some hires made here soon and have them hit the road. The longer this drags on, the less confident I am that there will be any splash hires that ignite some interest in recruits to jump over.

I'm worried about this dragging out. Thought the whole point of firing coaches weeks ago was to get a jump on hiring new Asst Coaches. Haven't seen anything from this staff that leads me to believe they will be ahead of the curve on anything, no matter how much Dean tries to spin it.

pretty sure Dean has a list of excuses to copy/paste from when the theories he's out out there inevitably do not come to fruition.
Edit: all of them will include something about how things have moved quickly, and he's done his best to provide quick and accurate info OR about how he didn't want to report on something that he didn't know 100%.
