Breaking College Football Playoff Selection

Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oregon appear to be locks

If BYU beats Tech in the Big 12 championship they are in

I assume Notre Dame gets in

It's possible the ACC won't have a team in the playoff

Then you've got Alabama, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma. If Alabama wins the SEC championship they'll be in for sure. But Alabama will pry be in it no matter what

Bama should out if the lose in the SEC championship game. But they probably won’t be. Losing to another SEC team, especially in the championship game, is actually like beating 3 non-SEC teams. That’s the rules.

Right now they’re the top ranked SEC team (in the conference standings), so I assume they’ll get in no matter what. I don’t think the committee will penalize them for losing to Georgia

Especially this year.

Will be like that almost every year. The conference that begins the season with most ranked teams is always the conference with most ranked teams when the season ends. And that conference is always the SEC. That’s the scam.

I think the SEC had 9 teams ranked pre-season. Half the conference. B1G was 2nd with 5 if I remember correctly. SEC and ESPN scamming everybody.

Probably move them up

So do they put ND in the playoff and leave the ACC out? Or do they put Miami in and leave ND out?

Why not just expand the playoff and kill off the conf championship games ? Or do what Owen came up with
I’m perfectly fine with that and if I had my own choice bama would be out. I’m just laying out the incentives that are at play and the precedent that’s been set. I also really think you could leave them out if they weren’t the first team out on the bubble last year, held out to protect the acc ccg loser.

Bama has also gotten gifts. Remember when they got in over an undefeated fsu that got moved down after they won their conf title game.

I don’t care about last year. Games on the field have to mean something and bama got embarrassed.

Miami, ND and Texas should all be in over Bama

I don’t agree with them dropping FSU, but it was understandable no one wanted to watch them die on NYD
