Cleansing of 2022 Husker Roster

yeah, he is a sophomore but he arrived in 2020 so he has a Covid year and he has already redshirted.
Depending on what portal brings, I would bet Rhule gives him the benefit of the doubt and say go through the spring atleast.

Good question. I avoid trying to think of this issue.

If we are on an upwards trajectory and these guys are still getting playing time it's hard to see why anyone would be unhappy. They signed with this staff. If someone wants to give them huge NIL we would likely be able to match if we wanted.

Hausmann was somewhat unusual in that 1) there was a coaching change that made it easy to transfer and 2) it turned out he liked Michigan best before he arrived on campus as a freshman but didn't feel it was appropriate to renege on his commitment to Nebraska at the time (they offered him about a month before his commitment to Nebraska and kept trying to flip him until he signed)

I don't think we lose anyone like this TBH. Princewill comes from an area with lots of good teams so I suppose he might want to go home, but we showed interest in him and most of those schools didn't. It's hard to leave a D like this.

Could be an issue for any number of guys if White leaves, though.

Hopefully everyone is a fully-indoctrinated Cult of OOU guy now (lol).
Does White give us another year or will he be already answering phone calls in about a month and a half?

Thought he was one of the better QB prospect we have had on the roster
Ernst Hausmann: Michigan.
Big loss
Ajay Allen: Miami. Dearly missed.
Really wish we had him, but we needed another portal RB when he hit. We only had 2 every down RBs. Johnson and Johnson size worries me with how they will hold up over the long haul.
Logan Smothers: Jax St.
Probably would be our starter and we would look more competent on offense

Alante Brown: MSU. Hurt
Wish we still had, but not a big loss.

David Alston
He would have been interesting with this staff. He was too small for how Chins wanted to play and never adapted his system to utilize him. I could see this staff using him as a pass rush specialist.. Not that we would need him at all given the production we are getting by guys who are more skilled. Just a random thought.

Eh, I actually think we COULD see the left side play better.

Nouili is a big loss.
I don't know who you put at RG but it's the Teddy P/Luto show on the left side now. Maybe that Justin Evans-Jackson or whatever his name is at RG?

I think you will see

LT Teddy
LG Jenkins
C Scott
RG Luto
RT Benhart

I think Jenkins looked better than Pieper. I am excited to see him.
Teddy should be better... He needs to be focused and confident.

Luto to Nouili is a drop.

Teddy doesn’t look the same since his injury. Hard to believe but when we have gone to jumbo packages with TP I saw why TC started. TP looks slower and not as strong. Maybe it’s confidence? But we sure need someone to step up at LT.

Isn’t he like 6’10 now? Dude might have just outgrown football….

What was Scott’s injury in NW? It’s good to go obviously?

I remember when coming back from TJ, for quite a while you just naturally do things a little bit more careful, and you're always mentally trying to notice if there's any pain or discomfort anywhere in the injury area, which will then result in simply being not as good because you're not playing loose and free. I'm going to assume that after two major knee incidents now for him, he's dealing with that. He doesn't really have a choice for the next 5 weeks, but a full offseason would get his head right again.

What's tough sometimes is you almost need an injury like situation, with nothing bad happening, to happen to him again for him to realize he's fine and can play free.

Well if nothing else a lot of young guys are getting their chance

We could have a lot of experienced players going into 2024

I’m excited to see what Jenkins can do
