Chinander Appreciation Thread

I would imagine it is somewhat of a mirage. It’s not like they played two prolific offenses the last two weeks. Let’s see what happens when they face a team with an offensive pulse.

Mirage is a solid word. But if we're going to talk bright spots three games into the season, the D is definitely it. You can see it in the way the guys are playing. There's a swagger and effort that's been sorely missing for quite some time. Defensive coaches are certainly the closest to earning their paychecks thus far.

I can see a path forward with the D where they make a jump to good or very good in the next year. Right now, I can't see the offense being anything better than medicore any time soon

Better hope Williams, Dismuke, Bootle, Domann, Honas and Miller don’t all decide to move on after this year.

I agree. Chin dialed up some nice blitzes in the 2nd half when we needed them most. Wasn't a perfect game for Chin, but fully realize Frost put him in the worst possible situation today with the 2nd half play calling .. Defense definitely stepped up today with some huge plays

I don't think any of them are irreplaceable, but I say that now and I'll probably POAC after I see their back ups play next year
I agree that there wouldn't be much fall to the backups but not sure how much of a fall there would be to their backups. Who is the next safety after Farmer? Who are the ILB's after Reimer and Henrich?

Not a Iot listed on the scholarship distribution at safety or ILB. I guess NPG at safety. Don't know if Lynum or Delancey or Newsome could play it.

I guess the replacement of 3 NFL DL with a DL that looks as good if not better has given me a bit more hope for the D than maybe it deserves. There will always be guys graduating and if they're ever going to get it there, it'll just be a situation where guys step up and ball.
