Chin rumor?

I think it was Greg Austin that wanted Will Farniok to play over Cam and Frost basically just wasn't having it?
That's part of it. Cam's higher ceiling and athletic ability were/are off the charts, but he wasn't ready yet. Coach also criticized the scheme, but he and Frost were not in agreement about Cam.

Slauson said they should have went with Cam at guard first because center is so hard especially for a guy with no line experience.

Coach Austin critized Frost's scheme? Was that in how it would work in the BIG or just overall?

I don't know anything about blocking schemes, but it was something to that effect. Overall, I got the impression he and Frost weren't on the same page. This was from a conversation 3 years ago involving a couple coaches and me listening in, so all I can remember now is that GA wasn't happy. I do remember how shocked I was that I was hearing it. In addition, it was a phone conversation and not in person. I think there was probably some venting going on. I think it was after the Colorado home opener.

It's all water under the bridge now. I got some news about Kpai's rehab in that it's gong well and he is loving Lincoln. He's going to be good.

Some posters on RRS bringing up rumors that Frost and Chin had a falling out a little while back and he may be looking at finding a small school HC gig to move on to.

Anyone hear anything about this?
Dumb. Time to kick up the rumor mill to 11.

That's great news on the Kpai front.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if all those coaches genuinely wanted to come here or if the pay day was too much to say no to. I don't know. Hindsight is always 20/20 but it makes me wonder sometimes. Was pretty general knowledge that TW wanted the UCF head job so I always wondered why he accepted the OC job here if he didn't actually want to be here.

I think Austin wanted to be here. He is a Nebraska guy.

Their entire time at UCF was basically a honeymoon phase. They didn't hit adversity until the first year in Lincoln and they crumbled
As much as I believe in the continuity concept with football and honestly non football things in life, looking back I'm not sure if that continuity thing could really be a thing if you hadn't battled and gotten through adversity together as a staff and found success on the other side.

I think it was certainly less valuable than it would be if they had a track record of adjusting on the fly and keeping things moving in a positive direction.
