CFB Expansion Talk

I always thought that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State were tied together due to some state law, similar to Kansas and Kansas State. That is what I remember reading when the Big 10 was supposedly talking about adding Oklahoma and Kansas.
Okie Lite fan on 247 says that’s no longer the case

This is from 2018 but its good article on Big 10 expansion: Link

Mentions Colorado, Georgia Tech, Kansas as possibilties.

If Big 10 actually expanded, you would probably have to look at:

1. Oklahoma
2. Notre Dame
3. Virginia
4. Colorado
5. North Carolina
6. Georgia Tech
7. Kansas
8. Missouri

Feel like the Big 12 probably dissolves at that point. Given the big 12 as big 10 are basically the same, except politics, some probably join the Big 10. I’d be cool letting TX and OU get butt fucked repeatedly in the SEC and TX get humbled by some things.

In saying that, let’s take K State, ISU, Okie State, and any other old Big 8 schools that I can’t think of right now and have some fun for a while. I’d be cool with KU but they’d get raped year in and year out.

this could be the best of both worlds conference wise for us Nebraska fans

Big 12 dead

B1G will add 2 more teams

I know this rule isn’t followed, but I feel like conferences should always the geography rule to make sense. Gimme Colorado, mizzou, and KU out of that list

I think the only realistic ones on your list are OU and KU

Nobody is leaving the SEC or ACC (including ND with their ACC deal)

Colorado is so tied to the Pac12 and left coast there is a 0% chance they would even pick up the phone

IMO: if this story of OU and UT to the SEC is true the Big 10 better have already contacted KU

Only current Big 12 schools that could join Big 10 would be Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas.

schools like ISU and KSU add no value to the Big 10. They would be better off joining the AAU

I’ve been enjoying reading reactions from fans like kstate or ISU. Can’t wrap their heads around why Oklahoma or Texas would want to leave a conference with completely inferior partners. NIL set things off

You could add Boston College to this and Syracuse to this too.

absolutely no reason to add KState. I’d be pretty nervous if I was any other Big 12 school beside maybe Kansas given basketball - most of them are probably heading toward Group of 5.

I don't know too much about the landscape of academia and universities, but academic wise, I just can't see the B1G offering anyone from the leftover rejects in the Big 12 other than Kansas with their basketball value being a big plus. The rest of the leftover schools in the B12 just seem like a bunch of Gomers
