Bud Elliot hates Nebraska..

Bud also went on numerous rants in the offseason saying Dylan Raiola is not a good college QB.
I listen to just about every cover 3 podcast. Never heard him say that about Raiola.

Bud Elliott looks strictly at recruiting rankings and Bill Connelly’s power rankings. Not enough actual game film unless it’s in the south.

That being said. He was the very first guy to sound the alarm on Marcus Satterfield at OC and unfortunately he may end up being right about the DL.

But he doesn’t like Nebraska and that’s been obvious for a while.

The constant dick sucking of Lagway when he hasn’t played nearly as well as Raiola is annoying.

Back in the day, I believe Bud used to be the Dean C. of FSU but has since parlayed that into being a fringe national talent. Imagine Dean’s unbridled greed/ambition with an ounce more talent and spell checking ability.

So… he’s a fat closet homo?

I don't quite understand why Elliot hates Nebraska. I'm not sure if its something to do with his predictions of Raiola, Husker fans hating on him in social media or what. But this is insane:

He's a true anti-CornDawg, because he hates Georgia too. If Nebraska becomes a top 10 program hate will increase. You know who he loves? FSU. Dude is coocoo for FSU puffs.

Gonna use this as my personal venting session right quick because it's been on my mind...

@Bootleg11 is right. Bud Elliott was front and center criticizing the Satt hire at OC (strongly, repeatedly and pretty much the minute the hire happened), and I've always given him credit for that because he deserves it. Overall, I think he's really good at what he does.

But the issue I have with Bud Elliott right now is:

– He picked Cincinnati to beat Nebraska, straight up.
– He said Nebraska's defense might be "bad, bad" (or maybe the actual quote was "really bad" ... either way)
– Nebraska beats Cincinnati.
– Nebraska holds Cincinnati to 17 points.
– In his analysis of Nebraska beating the team he picked it to lose against: "Nebraska looked a lot worse than I thought it would."
– The literal very next week, he picks Cincinnati to win + cover against Bowling Green because he believes "Cincinnati's defense might be really good."

Line all of those facts up and ... none of it lines up. Makes no sense. And the lack of accountability is aggravating as fuck.

Is this just some random tard or someone who may know what they are talking about and are credentialed?
He's actually pretty good, but also lets bias in and it is obvious at times. I listen to the pod despite Danny being on there.

Back in 2008, some Nebraska fans on the boards noted how LSU's defense regressed and took pride in that. We snagged Bo from them, and the regression of their defense was validation that we acquired a great commodity. Florida St now has Tony White. It's not hard to see the motives on why a sports writer with an FSU affiliation would spin a yarn focused on Nebraska's regression now that our prior defensive wunderkind holds residence in Tallahassee.

Thank you for providing a lot more context to my original post. I honestly don't care if any national guy is skeptical about the Huskers. I also don't take any issue with the national dudes shying away from Nebraska and "playoff talk." I too think that's laughable. IMO, this is an 8-4/9-3 type team, that could get to 10-2 with a couple of breaks. That leaves you on the outside looking in when talking about the playoffs.

But Bud is seriously going out of his way to hate on the Huskers, and Dylan Raiola. I think at some point he received some information from one of the 247 sites, he then went on record with it, and now he needs to double down on those comments to save face.

He picked them to go under the 7.5 number, and maybe he's upset about that prediction. I don't know.

Why are we left out at 10-2? Unless there’s 4 other Big 10 teams that finish 10-2 or better I don’t see how we’d be left out.

How's life going man? Post more!

Poll inertia mainly. If Nebraska went 10-2, they'd be in the conversation, would just depend on who we beat and when we lost. If Nebraska has a win over like a top 5 PSU team, they be a lot more likely then if its 10-2 with USC and PSU losses for example.

I think if Nebraska gets to 10-2, then they will have likely beaten a bunch of bad teams and lost to Penn State and either the only other good team they faced or a terrible team.

I'm sure Alabama fans would argue for Nebraska to get in with that kind of resume over other teams because that was their argument last season. Right?
