I got the impression he may have been burned out. Stepping away might light some fire again. Covering recruiting during covid had to be a PITA, and just wear on a person.

It was already bad during the height of the 2020 class, which all took place before Covid and when the team was recruiting at a really high level. The lack of scoops leading up to December 2019 NSD was outrageous and thought so even then.

There's some truth here as well. He may have been getting burned out earlier; and covid was the cherry on top.

It seems his decline, lack of info, happened at the same time Frost was hired. It’s not like Dean or Mongo have faired any better. If he starts pumping out inside info again, it will be safe to say the rumors of Frost’s distain for Dean are true.

The thing is I really like Clouse as a personality on the boards, and it's not like Mongo is an improvement in any capacity. I just get really befuddled when people act like Callahan let go some invaluable asset. 247 and their real network has eaten all of their lunches. That's why I'm interested in On3--real national talent and a vision. Clouse, even if he really comes hard now, is going to struggle at the toilet that's Rivals.

Iirc Clouse worked in the Callahan recruiting operation with Vince Guinta so it stands the reason he'd have a pretty good inside line
