Bowl Game OL Play

This kind of feels like a fan coping mechanism (that I am 100% guilty of). We say players shouldn’t be handed roles just because of hype or money, but then get frustrated when a coach actually holds someone to a standard.
At a certain point, if the guys playing absolutely suck and there is someone on the bench that can play better then what “standard” are you really upholding?

As Urban Meyer once said, “I treat my stars like stars and my shit like shit”. I can’t say that TO didn’t have a different viewpoint honestly.

A friend of mine started on the OL in the late '80's, he once told me that Milt Tenopir was the most demanding individual he had ever met. Every detail was viewed, evaluated and coached upon. He also shared that he had never felt so loved by anyone, outside of his mother.

He had a number of really interesting stories about Milt T, the best one being:

A fellow lineman had asked if it was really necessary to perfect a particular technique, as he had experienced success doing it a slightly different way.

Milt stared at him and said: "It's not necessary for you to be able to breathe, but long-term you will be more successful if you do." And proceeded to stare at the lineman.

Coaching matters. Hopefully, nothing drives like a Geep.

Will be interesting to see how they perform.
If there is a noticeable difference you have to laugh pretty hard at Dylan.

If there's a noticeable difference in the OL play with a new coach & a month of preparation you have to laugh pretty hard at the quarterback who was injured 2 months ago & not involved in the last 3.5 games?

Wanna boil Dylan's rabbit while you're at it?

If there’s a noticeable difference I’ll be pissed at Rhule.

He’s at every practice. I’m assuming he sits through some of the film study for the OL. He’s been on the sideline for every game. If there’s a noticeable improvement in four weeks, he should have done something about it two years ago.

it's not even been 3 weeks since he was hired

Nope. But I’ll laugh at Dylan and his diddy for wanting unc employed

If there's a noticeable improvement you'll be mad?

You do you, I'll be happier the better we play, and ecstatic if we got a guy who can make a major positive impact in 3 weeks.

I see the term "cope" used incorrectly a lot. I think the word you're looking for is hypocrisy. Fans showed a lot of hypocrisy with the Donnie/Pritchett situation in that they want their position coaches to be strict and maintain a high standard, but then they get mad at a position coach for doing so. That's hypocritical of the fans to do so.

I think the fans were hypocritical RE: Donnie the entire time he was here TBF.
