Until they prove last year wasn’t just luck I can’t get excited. This is mens Husker athletics after all. #Godletboltballprovemewrong
I get that. I will say though, I love how they recruit. It been very obvious to me how much better of a recruiter Bolt is compared to Erstad. I'd say that typically translates....unless your name is Fred Hoiberg 😢

I am always seeing another Bolt recruit and everyone gets excited but I have no clue if they’re highly sought after players. For example what’s their star ranking, what’s their national ranking, who are we beating out to get them?
I don’t get excited just because new recruit comes across the screen. On the same token I don’t follow baseball recruiting so you can probably help me feel better about it.

I wouldn't say I'm following baseball recruiting closely. I just like to have an understanding of what the overall recruiting plan is (in any husker sport really). Listening to Bolt talk about his recruiting philosophy, then seeing the type of players they are getting commitments from, he's following the Van Horn formula. Own local talent (which is good), hit JUCOs, steal some talented guys from the state of Texas, and fill in the rest. Bolt has an in with Canadian players as well that seems like it could be fruitful. There's a old Nebraska connection there but I can't remember the name...I'm sure someone on here who follows it closer than I do could tell you that name.

I'm with you btw, I need to see it, but I'm generally optimistic for Boltball. I was mainly just pointing out it starts Friday. I didn't realize the season started in February.

All eyes have to be on the pitching. We lost a ton of arm talent this past year. If we can shore that up, we've got a fighting chance to be pretty good again this year. My sense is, next year is where we blow up in a good way again.

Agreed. I'll be satisfied with a top 3 finish in the conference this year, but next year moving forward the expectation should be that we own the Big Ten nearly every season.

For sure.
