If we are relying on hail Mary’s to beat decent B1G teams lead by freshman QBs we are in trouble.
We weren’t relying on it but the possibility the staff recognized an opportunity is definitely there. We acted like we were packing it in then threw a successful Hail Mary. Commentators criticized Biff's Butthole Surfers for not using a TO to prep for it.

We don’t know what was discussed leading up to it but we can’t damn them for both succeeding or failing in that moment. There was a strategy & he made the right call & were most likely not going to utilize it again.

TAKE THE POINTS we were all screaming from our living room
This was the most disappointing decision of the game. Have we learned nothing from the Frost debacle? Oh yeah, we were going to take what we want.

We must have wanted L's because that's all we took when we left points on the field seemingly every week.

Even Mrs Quint said ‘That was dumb. Why didn’t he take the FG?'

I know why he did what he did, but we’ve got to take points.

We’re overreacting to one game. Not going to see teams with Michigans run game/ D edge pressure again until PSU. This team still has a lot to play for this season.

Calling a season over after a 3-1 start is ridiculous. Did a lot of you forget what the product looked like under Riley and Frost?

Dylan Raiola seems to be worth about 3 extra wins on his own this season.

Spent over half the game on his ass and still completed 73% for 310 yards and 3 TDs.

Long story short… REEEEEEELLLLAAAXXXXXX

There is about 25% overreaction, but most of what I’m reading is the same thing I’m feeling.

I’m tired of getting this close and getting railed.

I still think we’re an 8-9 win team, which is progress and what I predicted going into the year, but we still feel like Air Force playing Notre Dame and needing to have everything be perfect to pull of an upset like this. The reality is our rosters aren’t worlds apart. Yeah, we’ve got a ton of youth, so next year likely looks different.

To your point, we can’t magically coach the experience into the kids who don’t have it yet. It’s going to come. Maybe this year, but likely next. Relax.

I think we'll win 8 games this year. So not bad but any means.

But constantly tripping over our own dicks in big games is beyond old.

The record speaks for itself. Yes Rhule needs to win which I think he'll do. But he also needs to win big games which he hasn't done thus far.

Think it’s more the harsh realization that we’re nowhere near the upper tier of the B1G and just got out manned by a team that falls within Tier 2. Didn’t think in Year 3 we’d be getting manhandled up front on both sides by teams I thought we’d be at least equal to talent-wise by now. Thats the issue. Without Dylan doing what he could back there we lose that game by 30+. Frustrating.

Biff's Butthole Surfers is tier 2 now?

And you thought we’d be equal talent wise to Biff's Butthole Surfers, a team that won a natty 2 years ago?

That team is a Tier 2 B1G team this season. Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon are upper tier to me.

And I’m sorry it’s year 3 and we’re getting killed on both sides of the ball you’re right I should just expect that tho. We gave up 7 sacks lol.

8 wins would be great. Still this isn’t “flash in a pan with better job waiting” year 3. This is the best conference in football and he already had to redo his entire staff. To me he’s still rebuilding and we’re getting outpaced by mid tier teams (IU, IL) with less resources.

I don’t buy he has the vision, recruiting prowess, and game management to win and move past where we’re at. 2-23 is a fairly lopsided number.

His original staff was absolute bargain bin trash. I'm glad he got Holgo, Ek, and the new WR coach, but he's still fucking around hiring nobodies like Bradden and still has a shit ton of nobodies on staff (Dvoracek, Barfthel, Satt, Uncle Donny, etc). Very questionable decision making in that regard.

I still have patience with Rhule, and I am willing to have faith in him.

However in this modern era, you cannot be classified as a "developmental program" if you want to be a national power. Nebraska and Rhule need to switch to an approach of prioritizing the transfer portal.
all the changes we have seen in the last 4 months favor developmental programs

Well you thought we were going to win easily before the game was played. Now it's "Duh they have more talent"
I say that before every game, just like I say we will win 11 games every year

Also, they do have more talent. Has anyone ever said otherwise?

To exacerbate things, we can’t afford top tier DL, OL, and Rbs but have one of the most expensive operating budgets in college. And more staff positions than ever before to produce slightly above average results. Confusing to say the least.
