That's the thing. Our offense stalled in the red zone against Cincy, Akron, and HC. Just take the fucking 3 at home.I didn’t hate it personally. In hindsight sure. But If we score a TD there, I believe we win the game

I don’t trust us going to Minnesota on a short week and winning on Friday night and I could see us choking against Cockeye. Our talent level isn’t good enough to expect 8-9 wins. Maybe it does happen, but I wouldn’t chalk anything with our lines in the BIG which are average.
I’m not convinced about USC. They didn’t look convincing last week against PurdueI’m expecting….no…maybe hoping…for some improvement in both units as the season moves along and the youth starts to figure it out. On the O line, I’m not sure we’re going to see anything dramatically different the rest of the way out. We’re apparently in love with Teddy, Henry and Gunner and none of them can pass pro for shit. That’s not going anywhere.
What I’m seeing is Biff's Butthole Surfers still has elite talent at places we won’t be facing elite talent down the road, expect against USC and Penn State. Figure some things out and play better football.
I’ve stopped thinking that because a team looked bad vs opponent X, we will be ok. We have an uncanny ability to make teams look their best.I’m not convinced about USC. They didn’t look convincing last week against Purdue
I think you’re overreacting about Key and Hunter a bit. They are difference makers. Dylan had no time today to go through any of his reads. He often was running for his life and had to improvise a throw to a tight window or take the sack. Not being argumentative but based on what we’ve seen from them and they’re career to this point, it’d be very unfair to call them insignificant.
All good, I’ve been too pissed to go back and review anything. We can agree to disagree.
Watching the replays, you don’t see separation. They’re not winning the one on ones or splitting zone when that’s the play, regardless of line play. We’re limiting ourselves a bit in play calling, but I suspect Holgorsen knows he can’t take the ceiling off and has to play the short game.
I’m also not calling them insignificant, I just don’t believe they’re capable of changing the game against good opposition. Trey Palmer they ain’t. No offense meant.

Biff's Butthole Surfers does have solid talent, but it’s not as good as it has been on the lines . We should get better, but those other teams should get better too. Atleast our special teams look adequate these days.I’m expecting….no…maybe hoping…for some improvement in both units as the season moves along and the youth starts to figure it out. What will be interesting is pending an omega transfer class at numerous positions will DR want to hang out for another year when NU will not have a great chance or be a favorite to go to the playoffs? Idk it will be an interesting decision for him.
A year away but we’re losing key starters who were big transfers after this season with no one close to their potential coming behind them. We’re going to be back in the portal again which will be a big factor to being as good as this year.I’m disappointed, but I saw this coming. As much as I wanted to believe we were there, we’re not. Yet.
I like the staff (mostly), like the roster (mostly), but we’re still a year away from being dangerous.

In the portal era I don’t think you can ever be a year away. You never know for sure who you can keep. You have to build to win every single year.A year away but we’re losing key starters who were big transfers after this season with no one close to their potential coming behind them. If you have the sufficient money you can have a more consistent outcome imo. Let’s hope the 90 players in the rFR and SO class pan out for next season. In the portal era I don’t think you can ever be a year away. You never know for sure who you can keep. You have to build to win every single year.
For sure but we were DRIVING and the opportunity was there for the takingThat's the thing. Our offense stalled in the red zone against Cincy, Akron, and HC. Just take the fucking 3 at home.
This isn't the 2023 Biff's Butthole Surfers squad, not even close. Also Biff's Butthole Surfers went like 7-5 last year - did they forget how to win and now they've remembered again? Two years removed from an NC and it shows.
We’re two decades removed. Also shows.
They still know how to win. Expect to win.
Their roster is also at a different level than ours, regardless of what we want to think.
