Are you going to watch the new Game of Thrones show?

The great thing about a show with a lot of lore and history is that you can make a ton of shows about it. All it takes is a little mention of something that happened in the past and it can balloon into a whole storyline in itself.

HBO shot a pilot in 2019 then canceled it. It was called blood moon and started Naomi Watts. It was set during the long night 5000 years before the main GOT story line.

Kit Harrington said they (development team and him) shelved it because they couldn’t come up with a compelling story.
Boobs could be the main storyline. Jon could make up for all the time he missed scoring with hot chicks.

I htink they are going to keep making shows as long as they are printing money. I am all for it. I think this one will be very successful. I wonder if they would expand on the planned Dunk and Eggs stories. They are all short stories, so Martin could probably give them broad strokes and they could adapt them since he doesn't write anymore.

I wonder what they would do next. I heard potentially a Yi Ti show or Nymeria show. Those seem way out of left field. Too bad the BloodMoon show ddnt get through pilots, I thought that sounded interesting.
GRRM is closest to finishing She Wolves of Winterfell and The Village Hero in Tales of Dunk and Egg. I could see them running with his basic outline, but I hope not. He said he'll finish them after releasing Winds of Winter which who knows when that'll be.

Nymeria would be cool if they start with origin story before Valarians wipe em all out and ending after the conquest and unification of Dorne.

I'm still waiting for the Jon Snow spin off. I do love the history of GoTs but I would love to see the fallout of the original series.
I imagine some of that will be in A Dream of Spring (final book in series whatever it's name will be). Since in world is all about Long Night, and every story contributes to that I doubt we'll ever get a post Night story. Not even sure if that last book gets finished.

Maybe they do Old Valyria.

Maybe they do Aegon's conquest.

They definitely left open possibilities with further stories for Arya, Sansa, Jon, Bran, Tyrion and even Daenerys. Although this would be bad unless GRRM writes it. (He won't)

My idea for HoTD was that it should have been narrated by Bran to Sam. Sam could have been reading old scrolls as usual and comes across the contradictory stories from the Dance of the Dragons. Nobody knows what truly happened then because of the different versions left by the 3 different "historians". Exactly like it is presented in the books. Sam doesn't know which account of the events to trust until Bran steps in to tell him the real story. (Via the weirwood network) And that makes the show canon for the official history of the war. (Which is basically what we are getting)

Additionally, I would love it if GRRM could finish his Dunk and Egg novellas, but I highly doubt he will. So this new show is a vehicle for us to get further stories of the duo's adventures, so I'm thankful for the possibility that we see "The She Wolves of Winterfell," and "Summerhall" play out on screen instead of on pages.

Summerhall would be very very interesting, with ghost of high heart and Jenny, did the Maesters cause the fire, Dunk's heroism and role, the birth of Rhaegar. Hell, let that flow into the Rhaegar series of him growing up, prophesy, and tourney at Harrenhall up to Tower of Joy.
