I was looking for a completely different gif, stumbled across this one, and forgot everything.

I didn't watch Rhule's press conference after practice yesterday so I am not sure if this is exactly what he said, but if so, I thought the highlighted below was a semi-interesting comment. If they are "technically" unofficial visits, does that allow them some leeway later in the process to possibly bring them in as NIL guys instead of scholarships? @Carm

I could easily be looking too much into that comment, just thought it was an odd statement to make.

I'm not Carm, but yes, there are a few things about being recruited that automatically make someone a counter for scholarship purposes, and if they come on an OV, that automatically puts them in the counter category. So this would be one of the necessary steps if they were going to be in play to be a non-counter on an NIL deal.

Plus, you get a limited number of OVs, so for the guys whose only expense getting here is a 50 minute car drive, keeping them as unofficial visitors is a good way to be able to bring in more long distance guys during the year.

I read it as the are on unofficial visits but will/can participate in the same activities as the official guys. Probably saying there won’t be much of a difference between officials and unofficials this weekend, besides the obvious fact the AD would be paying for travel and lodging for the officials.
