I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it seems like there has been a steady stream of walk-ons leaving the team since Rhule took over. I believe almost all of the walk-on punters and kickers have left and now the QBs it seems like there was a few others too.

There's always walk on turnover. I don't see this as being any more excessive as past years. Maybe more publicized due to the portal.

Now that the DR saga is over and isn’t going to result with NU getting him, where do we pivot at QB? Is Kaelin 100% out of the question for us?

part of it is intentional - I seen a number of people writing that Rhule would like the roster to be about 120 so the walk-ons actually get some coaching. That means 35 walk-ons totals.

He really likes Satt but it will be difficult. South Carolina is putting together a really good class and he is a big peer recruiter. He has been bonding with future teammates for ten months. Beside Satt, what we can offer is a chance to be QB1 after freshman year. Reno, at So Carolina, may be facing a situation in which he won't play for 3 years. The have a freshman this year who already in the spring appears to be winning PT.

Does Rhule actually go get another QB or do we just focus on the portal again after the year?

excellent question. I thin kt eh answer is, "it depends". I doubt they tie up a schollie with just anyone. If they can get a Reno-type guy, who they believe fits the system, I think they would do it. If not, and they think they can get someone next year, they wait. I think they'd likely prefer someone they could develop for a year or two before they play.
