Breaking Apology thread

I'm less concerned about specific play calls and more about the broader pattern of having no creativity in the red zone. They've been roughly 85-15 Run to pass in the red zone the past two games and while it probably skews more heavily run for lots of teams, that reeks of predictability

Adding something new that isn't on film and instead doing the same plays over and over in the redzone and expecting different results?

Oh, risk! If you're worried about risk from the 1 inch line with your 4th year senior quarterback, reread by bottom line.
Point is they didn't need to add a wrinkle. They needed to have Yant tie his shoelaces or avoid whatever phantom thing he tripped on. Or yes bench Martinez because he can't QB sneak is an alternative.

Does PFF have any red zone stats? Like how many times Austin Allen has been targeted? Run pass on the year? Etc.

You weren’t a fan of Tim Beck were you? He liked to get too cute at times.

End of the day never should have been in the position that a TD from the 1 yard line is the difference in the game. Should have beat that team by multiple touchdowns.

Why would you even think about throwing to your tallest target in the endzone?

Let's handoff to the running back from shotgun and run them straight into the pile.

Yant was pulled the prior week for running the wrong direction on a critical down, late in the game.

Who decided to play Yant yesterday?

To be fair Martinez might shit his paints and throw it over his head. We are just a shitty team. We don’t execute in critical moments.

I've never coordinated the 111th red zone scoring offense in college football, so beats me

I was getting ready to ask if anyone knew where the team ranked in that category without looking. That's pathetic.

What's even more pathetic is we might have a QB that will own every school record from yards, TDs to fumbles/int and wont have 25 wins total.

Last week I was told how great our offense is on here.

Dunno. Johnson probably would have been in there if he didn't get hurt. Morrison has been good at the goal line in previous games. Could have given him the carry.

Just another reason that scott should never coach another game here.

The talent/size on this team in the WR/TE spots it's some of the best in it's history and it can't even be utilized because in year 4 the head coach can't trust his hand picked QB.

4th and inches I'm running it every time. 2nd and 3rd down are good times for the throw to the gigantically tall tight end though. 2nd to last series it worked good.

I’m not disagreeing with you. If it’s a big moment or play I just expect us to fuck it up. I don’t get mad. It’s like okay this doesn’t surprise me.

I didn't hate Beck. He did tend to get too cute in the red zone though. Taylor was a pussy though so took qb run out of the equation. That's probably been our best play as someone said running 2AM inside the 10. Imo he scored on 3rd down. Replay sucked though so don't blame them for not calling it a TD.
