I think the detached retina part is just a possibility. If retina is detached that's a problem.

I thought my contact was smudged. Still there when i took my contact out.

I haven't read through all of the replies, but had a detached retina over a year ago. Does it look like there's a shade being drawn on your eye? My eye was dark from the top of my vision where only about 1% of my vision was obscured.

It's a HUGE deal if it's detached. Yes, you could lose all vision in that eye.

If it's only floaters, you could get by waiting.
