I had he same exact thing a month ago.I’ve had floaters most of my life, they aren’t very noticeable normally tho
About 2 months ago I started getting “flashers” in my right eye & that was followed by a new floater.
I was worried that was a retina detachment so I immediately made an appt to the eye doctor
What I have is a Vitreous Detatchment. Nothing can be done about those & they don’t cause vision loss in itself. Supposedly everyone gets those as they age.
If u see any flashing white light especially noticeable in a dark room or at night when u move ur head, that’s probably what it is
Get checked regardless when u get home.
If u aren’t noticing any vision loss or shading (blind spots) in ur vision I don’t think it’s a detached retina
Any weird stuff with vision is scary & being out of the country with this occurring would definitely take any fun out of the trip
Rarely though. But that’s why you need to see the eye dr right away a month laterFun fact vitreous detachment can cause retinal detachment.
Thankfully you were in a country with modern medicine when it happened. Absolute best case scenario for Jim is some tour guide is trying to pry his eye out with a fishing hook because they think demons are behind itI had he same exact thing a month ago.
No that you mention this I would actually recommend that Jim see an ophthalmologist not an optometristThankfully you were in a country with modern medicine when it happened.
Think we're more in the mortician/company that transports bodies across borders realm. RIP @Jim14510 1943-2023No that you mention this I would actually recommend that Jim see an ophthalmologist not an optometrist

How has your vision been since?I had he same exact thing a month ago.
same with me/ The bright light that moved with my eye (when it was dark) has disappeared. The new floaters are still there, but the brain notices them lessHow has your vision been since?
Initially the newer floater was kinda bothersome but it has seemed to fade & not be as noticeable
