Herbie’s Hangout Analysis of Colorado Scholarship Players

Basically he wasted a spring by processing out half the team after spring practice.

They are going to be onboarding like 60 new players in the fall while simultaneously trying to get ready to play a game vs TCU.

Honestly if Deion pulls this off and wins 4 games, I'll be impressed.

That being said, I'm nervous about the Nebraska v Colorado game because...well that's where Nebraska is at as a program. They can't even guarantee wins versus a team that went 1-11 last year.

While I expect Nebraska to run them over, it's a trap game for us because of the 2nd away game and it being in a higher altitude area.

I just don't see it for Colorado. They'll get the talent at the QB, RB, WR and then the secondary positions, but holy crap, their lines are horrible.

This year will definitely make Deion seem like a complete genius or a complete idiot.

All I will say is that Ohio State always has top end talent throughout their roster, but the one year where their QB was injured and they had to bring in a guy that was below the level even Nebraska was able to beat them. So if Sanders' kid can't step up at this level then maybe none of the rest is gonna matter. But, consider that he might not be up to the challenge AND their OL and DL will be dogshit, then this could get so, so ugly. Add that none of these guys even know each other and we will see some some Game of Thrones style betrayal and backstabbing in that locker room.

Good point.

And I've brought this up before but this schedule sucks for a 1st year coach.
@ TCU
Nebraska
Colorado St
@ Oregon
USC
@ Arizona St
Stanford
Bye
@ UCLA
Oregon St
Arizona
@ Washington ST
@ Utah

They will likely be double digit underdogs in 6 games: TCU, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Oregon St, Utah. If they get beat by 4 TDs v TCU they'll probably be a double digit underdog to Nebraska as well.

Going to Washington St sucks, Colorado St is going to be better this year. Arizona will have a top 30 offense. Arizona State is rebuilding but they have to go to Tempe.

The one saving grace is Stanford who may have the worst roster in P5 football. But their coach, Troy Taylor, is a more proven coach than Deion. He's 30-8 as a head coach and has much more familiarity with coaching in the Pac 12 than Deion.

I could see TCU being a closer game early. TCU lost a lot of good players and has a new OC. But they should win that game comfortably.

Rhule is going to dickslap Deion into the Kuiper Belt. If it wasn't CU, you might feel bad for those shitty broke bastards, but because it is...

Colorado TCU is a 22 point spread.

76% of the Money is on CU
88% of the tickets are on CU

FWIW Vegas is going to make a fucking killing on CU this year. I think like 10% of CFP championship tickets are on them so far.

Also we are 8.5 point favorites vs them. 88% of money and 90% of tickets on CU currently.

I need their team total to get back to 4.5 so I can bet the under. Last I looked (it's been a while) it was at 3. I didn't like that.

Just looked it's at 3.5 (Under -175) on BetMGM

Yeah it was 4.5 with + money on the over during spring ball. I took the under then... They then had the exodus and Vegas dropped it.

Fan duel has them at 3.5 with + money on the over. If Dieon goes over what are the odds he is in Colorado next year?

The other thing is that the kind of hype and cockiness that Deion brings works a whole lot better when you're winning. When the talk doesn't match the results on the field, things could get ugly, and not just with the fans...

Prior to last week I never really gave much credence to the elevation factor at CO. I always thought it was bullshit excuse.

Turns out I’m a dumbass and never spent much time at higher elevations. I was in the Ozarks at a little over 2000 ft above sea level and I was huffing and puffing carrying heavy suitcases up a steep gravel driveway at the VRBO and I’m in fairly decent cardiovascular shape.

Boulder is 2.5 times as high as the Ozarks and I can’t even imagine.

One year I heard a rumor about how Nebraska was +2500 or something to win the conference title and a ton of money was going across the river and putting money on it. Ameristar/Harrahs/Horseshoe had a huge liability if the Huskers won. But one of the casino managers actually moved it to like +3500 to induce more action and have people come bet twice... I believe we ended up 4-8 that year.

Yeah seems like that would've been Frost's 2nd year when most were drunk on kool-aid
