Considering we have a foot of snow on the ground already. NWS is putting out PSA's to remove the snow 3 ft from building foundations because they think we might get an inch of liquid rain on top of the snow.

I'm just glad they've revised it a little bit to be a high of 34 tomorrow and Tuesday instead of 38F. That would be a true shit show.

This is ten miles north of Sioux Falls. How is the coming "atmospheric river" going to fuck where you live?

Sadly, I envy Omaha residents right now. I think @God is a Husker will shed a tear since a single person (me) wishes they lived in Omaha for even a few minutes.

On second thought, if that forecast plays out, I'll pray for you. There are far too many "Sheila's" out in West O that think their brakes work way better than they do on ice in their SUVs due to AWD/4WD.

Just as many hill billies out in western Nebraska that think the same way in their 4 wheel drive pickup.

For sure, it's just that they are distanced from each other in western NE such that braking distance isn't quite as important as often.

Those giant trucks are still scary since the drivers might think they're invincible whether they're in Yutan, Omaha, McCook, or Broken Bow.

Not that long ago these people controlled 48% of the world.

It snowed in London and it was a video of people driving into parked cars/buses/poles etc.

Why did I assume it regularly snowed in London? Learn something new everyday.

Feel a little like the lady that cuts my hair that once said to me....

"Did you know that London and Paris are two different cities?"

Took a while before she could start cutting my hair again because I was laughing so hard.

Obligatory ice storm story. Back in the '60s since there was no internet we found out about school closures by listening to KFAB radio who would read off a list of closures. Many districts had already closed but Omaha Public Schools was waiting on word from the superintendent. The story goes he went out to his porch to see for himself how bad it was, took two steps and fell on his ass. Schools closed.

Now it makes sense. It's snowing in Modena Italy right now and my boss is losing his fucking mind. He told me on our call today that it hasn't snowed there in five years.

My dad's tale was that the superintendent lived across the street from the high school when he was in school, and that if the superintendent could walk across the street to his office they didn't cancel school. And also that it was uphill both ways to school.

For those that wanted or expected fun stuff:

The freezing rain is in progress. I was hoping the forecasters were wrong and we'd just get another foot or two of snow.
