I think it makes the most sense that Ek wants more responsibility on the defensive side of the ball. We'll know the answer to that when his position is announced by USC.
I don't think Rhule joking about Ek being a psycho and staying away from him on the sideline is a reliable data point regarding their ability to work with one another. Not interested in playing board psychologist.
Ek getting antsy and wanting to move around is weird to me but could be his MO, him seeing that this staff isn't staying in Nebraska long might make sense but Rhule isn't gone after '26. Money seemingly isn't the driving factor.
I've never seen ayone go so far out of their way to misinterpret what someone posts since Sammy boy.
And since you interpret what I post in exactly that way it confirms my opinions on yours. "Purposely sabotage" I never have once said anything like that. No more purposely than Solich, Bill Callahan, Mike Riley or Frost. It is what it is. I have no doubt Rhule thinks he's doing what is best for the program most of the time. Just like the previous failed Head Coaches mentioned. Sorry I interrupt your fantasy where Rhule is some sort of moral golden standard above reproach and incapable of insecurity and pettiness.
It also could be as simple as his wife not wanting to live in Lincoln. I’m pretty sure she stayed back in TN last year. The point is that we just don’t know either way.
If you’ve already decided that Rhule is a dipshit, then you’re going to assume that anything that happens is now 100% Rhule’s fault.

I have no idea how to find it right now but there is an interview with Ek from a couple years ago where he talks about wanting to be just a special teams coach and not having any desire to be anything else. I suppose things can change for him that way but that's what I base my thoughts on Ekleer on.

IMO this off season has been pretty tame from a big picture perspective. Lots of the turbulence was anticipated and not surprising except for maybe one or two things.
Almost all schools have staff turnover each and every year in one form or another.
This year we dumped 3 that sucked and might lose 1 we liked. That's actually a favorable ratio.
"But but but we don't know if they'll be any good. We didn't get a big name. We didn't get someone young/new/fresh/old/proven/known. We lost him to a conference rival.....blah blah blah"
