I think its a combination of him simply not wanting to play for us and the money factor. Hes too expensive for us.
They better be ready to spend as of now they likely have to pay the bad team tax if they want some of the stud transfers that will have offers from better teams

It’s shocking that a guy would choose a playoff team over whatever Nebraska is.
This a lame excuse, Texas Tech made an absolute haul last year in the transfer portal and were 8-5 in 2024.

David Bailey could've gone to any number of schools that were in the playoffs last year. So could Howard Sampson, Hunter Zambrano, Lee Hunter, Romello Height, Micah Hudson, Terrance Carter, Tarrion Grant and Cole Wisniewski. They chose to go to a team that had 1 more win than Nebraska did this year in a worse conference in fucking Lubbock, TX.

Why? Because Tech is spending. Nebraska is acting like they are spending. Joey McGuire is a college coach because of Matt Rhule and is now absolutely in a program that is running circles around Nebraska.

Can one of us arrange a Anna Nicole Smith situation for Warren Buffet, then one of us get's access to his cash for portal usage?

Unfortunately Warren hasn’t been able to get it up for 30+ years and believes boner pills are an unnecessary expense.

Nebraska is spending what it can. They can’t compete in spending with a lot of teams.

tl;dr: Nebraska mentions for Minchey & Tulane DL Tre’VonMcAlpine

The college football transfer portal is officially open for business. The 15-day window is expected to be a mad dash with programs trying to build out rosters for the 2026 season while working to retain their top players.
On3 has the latest intel on where over 40 of the top transfers could land and their official visit schedules.

Transfer Portal Intel

Auburn WR Cam Coleman
The two early schools to watch are Texas and Texas A&M, and sources have told On3 they like where the Longhorns stand early on. It would add a top weapon in the passing game for Arch Manning.
Penn State EDGE Chaz Coleman
Ohio State continues to be the school to keep tabs on in Chaz Coleman’s transfer portal process, sources tell On3. Coleman is a Warren, Ohio native. He has three years of eligibility remaining and his raw talent makes him one of the top players entering the portal. Tennessee is another school to watch.
North Texas QB Drew Mestemaker
The early school to watch at this point is Oklahoma State, where he has ties from his time at North Texas with Eric Morris. But sources have told On3 to keep tabs on Indiana and Miami, too, for the true freshman standout.
Utah EDGE John Henry Daley
Michigan remains the early school to watch for the top pass rusher available in the transfer portal. Daley will also continue to take stock of the rest of the market.
Louisville RB Isaac Brown
Sources have told On3 that Texas is the top team to beat to land Louisville transfer running back Isaac Brown. The All-ACC selection and former Freshman All-American is one of the top returning running backs to college football in 2026.
Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt
Three schools continue to be mentioned the most in Sam Leavitt’s transfer portal recruitment as of late: LSU, Miami and Oregon. The Ducks will be waiting on an NFL draft decision from Dante Moore following the conclusion of the 2025 season.
Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby
Texas Tech and LSU are the two schools going head-to-head to land Brendan Sorsby. The Tigers have emerged as a top player in this recruitment as of late.
North Texas RB Caleb Hawkins
Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas have all been tied to the true freshman standout, but sources view the Cowboys as the team to beat in the recruitment.
USF QB Byrum Brown
Auburn remains the early school to watch to land USF transfer quarterback Byrum Brown, who has experience in Alex Golesh’s system. If Sorsby does not land at Texas Tech, expect the Red Raiders to express interest in Leavitt or Brown.
Pitt LB Rasheem Biles
One of the top linebackers in the transfer portal, he’s set to visit Ohio State on Jan. 5, his agents tell On3.
Western Georgia DL Kourtney Kelly
The transfer defensive lineman will be at Clemson on Monday followed by Kentucky, his agents tell On3.
Akron OL Maasai King
The offensive line transfer is scheduled to visit Cockeye State and Oklahoma, per his agents.
TCU QB Josh Hoover
While Kentucky and Louisville have been publicly linked to Josh Hoover, sources continue to tell On3 that Indiana is the top school to watch in this transfer recruitment.
Florida QB DJ Lagway
The former five-star recruit has been tied to Baylor, LSU, Miami and Louisville, among other schools. Expect Lagway to watch how the market plays out on the opening day of the portal before making any decisions.
LSU OL Carius Curne
One of the top interior offensive linemen to enter the transfer portal, the expectation is that he will take visits to Georgia and Arkansas.
Michigan State WR Nick Marsh
Two early schools to keep tabs on in this recruitment are Notre Dame and LSU, sources have told On3.
NC State RB Hollywood Smothers
Early schools to watch in this recruitment include Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Florida State, his rep Bryan Miller tells On3.
Oklahoma State EDGE/LB Wendell Gregory
Texas Tech is expected to be a player for one of the top pass rushers in the portal.
NC State WR Terrell Anderson
Texas Tech is viewed as an early school to watch for the NC State transfer wide receiver.
Notre Dame QB Kenny Minchey
Sources have told On3 that Nebraska is one to watch for the Notre Dame transfer quarterback. He nearly beat out CJ Carr in training camp for the starting job.
Texas WR Parker Livingstone
Sources have told On3 that an early school to monitor in this recruitment is Indiana.
Wisconsin QB Billy Edwards
North Carolina is the early school to watch for the former Maryland transfer quarterback.
Ohio State QB Lincoln Kienholz
Two early schools to keep tabs on in this recruitment are Louisville and Cincinnati, sources have said.
Old Dominion QB Colton Joseph
Linked to Florida State throughout the transfer process, Colton Joseph is also expected to visit Wisconsin in the near future.
Penn State QB Ethan Grunkemeyer
One early school to watch in this recruitment is Virginia Tech, where Grunkemeyer could reunite with former Penn State head coach James Franklin.
Oklahoma State QB Hauss Hejny
USF and UCF are expected to be factors in this transfer portal recruitment. LSU is also viewed as a potential option if Hejny wants to develop under a starting quarterback.
San Diego State Trey White
While a slew of College Football Playoff contenders are expected to be in the mix, the top school to watch to land Trey White is Texas Tech, sources have told On3.
Penn State DL Xavier Gilliam
Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Indiana, Oklahoma, Missouri and LSU are all schools to watch in this recruitment, sources have told On3.
Tulane DL Tre’VonMcAlpine
Early schools in the mix are Kansas, Illinois, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Auburn and Nebraska.

Oklahoma CB Devon Jordan
The Sooners transfer defensive back is lining up a trip to Cincinnati for this weekend, his agents tell On3.

Would be nice to see our name mentioned for a few more of these guys 🫤 But the portal is huge, probably around 1000-1200 players once everyone enters, so I’ll try to be patient.
