This is 100% true. Getting a starter-quality player from the portal as a P2 school is a significant success. And the most cost-effective way to do this is to look for guys who aren't yet starters but have just about grown into being a starter at the P4 level. Starters at lower levels usually have a lower ceiling than those guys.Yeah bit of these guys were definitely in line to start this year for their respective schools. I think people in general need to lower their expectations for the portal in general. Best case scenario in most cases is finding replacement level starters to plug holes. The number of true difference makers in the portal is very low.
Oh, No the fans didn't like a departing player! The fans are so knowledgeable, they always know who will turn out to be productive!
NU also needs some upperclassman as I am guessing Rhule’s first class isn’t panning out and his second and third at OL aren’t ready. I like that they are getting these guys as what’s coming back is bleak in a lot of spots on the OL.This is 100% true. A tradition like non-other… trashing your players as they enter the portal.Oh, No the fans didn't like a departing player! The fans are so knowledgeable, they always know who will turn out to be productive!
Really, I could completely not give a fuck what LSU fans say. It isn't any kind of evidence at all in my book.
Arkansas and South Carolina are both spending serious money in the portal. SC got Chaz Coleman on campus and had the #1 OT in the portal signed before Seaton entered yesterday. Arkansas has a massive portal class and mostly multi-year guys coming in. Year 1 isn't a year coaches put chips in so Arkansas pushing hard for a multi-year OL is bullish for this kid's evalCompetitive P2 recruitment against Arkansas and SC the perennial basement dwellers of the SEC.
Hope is the transfers have higher potential then on roster and Geeeeeppppp coaches them up. Way better strat then standing pat with what we have.LSU and South Carolina were a lot like Nebraska. The entire offensive line stunk.
There’s no way each player is genuinely terrible. Comes down to coaching and scheme.
Dean, for what it’s worth, said that Alabama was interested as well.He visited Arkansas and SC, in what world are those big time programs?
So now we're bitching about the o-linemen that we got in the portal? For fucks sake, it is very RSS potatoey around here lately. Alot of things to bitch about but the portal haul at OL isn't one of them.
I've been as down as anybody on the Nebraska portal work, but I agree with you. He was only a sophomore right? Shouldn't be playing OL yet as a sophomore in the SEC anyways. Just tells me he probably has talent but wasn't ready to play yet but LSU's OL stunk as a whole so they had to play him.Oh, No the fans didn't like a departing player! Proof will be in the pudding, but the Geep hiring has the potential to be really really good.Geep has quietly gotten to work
I’m fine with the Raiola and the drama associated with him being gone.Oh, No the fans didn't like a departing player! The fans are so knowledgeable, they always know who will turn out to be productive!

On the Raiola thing, the proof will be in the pudding on whether Moore stays or not. If Oregon is just taking him as a depth piece for this year than that’s a different story.I’m fine with the Raiola and the drama associated with him being gone.
But I find some humor in people thinking he’s not good enough to be QB here while one of the top programs in the nation wanted him.
Miami came in with a big late offer as well.Dean, for what it’s worth, said that Alabama was interested as well.
