I just don't have it in me anymore. I am a basketball fan this time of year.

Never thought I'd lose the football obsession but seeing y'all whine this much over some portal news 3 days into the portal made me realize I just don't care as much as I used to.

We'll get the guys or we won't. Go Big fRed.

I do not agree. I think getting to the playoff would be a major accomplishment and one that people could see as a significant step in the right direction. In doing so, he would have had to overcome part of the narrative on him now and had to beat ranked teams.

I agree with both this post and still believe the post you responded to is partially correct.

There are a handful on here that will bitch no matter what, and not see anything other than championships as progress.

If Rhule beat a top 25 team I’d consider it progress, he looks lost everytime he plays a competent coaching staff.

That's simply not true. The season ended so piss poor, so I think you are a bit jaded. We played both Michigan and USC extremely tight.

Now, he hasn't been able to get the job done against a rated team, and that's fair to be critical of. But things are never as bad as they seem (also never as good as you might think lol). The truth is somew in the middle.

The real Dana Holgorsen is alive somewhere. He lives on deep inside of the pale imitation of DH we employ in Lincoln.

I believe the real Dana still exists. But he needs something to bring him back to life. Colandrea might be enough of a psycho nutter to bring out the real DH lol

(Check down king Dylan was the worst thing we could have - he made imitation Dana stronger. Check down after check down)
he needs @HuskerGarrett to bring a kilo of cocaine to his condo in Lincoln to awaken the offensive beast.

Agree to an extent however Rhules struggles against good teams isn’t just at Nebraska. It dates back his entire college coaching career.

That’s true. But I have always viewed that stat with a grain of salt because I believed it was skewed by the fact that he was taking over dog shit programs. But that excuse goes out the door in year 3 and year 4.

We probably won’t. Hence all the whining. It’s hard to just stop giving af with the football team but I’m with ya

Someone on RRS posted this morning that McKewon said on the radio this morning that we "like our RB room and likely won't be aggressive at that position in the portal." Anyone else hear that and can confirm.

Would be incredibly stupid IMO
even with improved line play, like REALLY improved line play, if we dont put a stud at QB or RB its going to be tough to stomach.

I thought they showed some good stuff in the bowl game, but now that the coaches got caught with their pants down at the QB position, they might want to think real hard about how they can become the best RTDB team in America

Or get fired

Time for me to stop being so "wait and see" and post something pessimistic.....

The entire portal strategy is confusing at this point.

We aren't going hard at......well.... anything.

At least it doesn't appear that way.

What is Pat's plan? Because it's not apparent to me.

Is it to wait for the other teams to blow their wad and then scoop up what remains? Because that seems where it's headed. Even the "visits" rumors seem to have dried up.

I guess I'm an outlier, but I don't think RB is a position of major need either.

Solid point.
People bring up the game he had in Lincoln because it's obviously the one we all watched. He did better in basically every other game. I mean against possible national champion Indiana he went 27/33 for 243 yards, 1 td and 0 int. AND ran for another 50. He has potential.
People seem to be forgetting his game in Lincoln was one of the most brutal winds I think you could ever play in. People looking for great QB stats that day are not being realistic. Scoring only occurred in one direction, and really any offensive output went one direction down the field.

I'd rather us go high ceiling FCS than P4 double retread like Chiles or Lagway. Between those 2 - I am definitely in on Chiles though, because at least he was brought to MichSt because he worked well with Jonathan Smith at the Beavs...
