Whittingham to Michigan is official. Anyone who has Michigan message board account feel free to share their meltdown 😀 The sweet tears of apoplectic Michigan douchers can heal the world…
I’m sure some fans will bitch, but I don’t see why they should considering the circumstances.

True, but there’s already been reports of discontent before it was official. So… I’m here for the tears, the validity of those tears is of no consequence to me.
The reaction of a hiring is always overrated anyways. Time will tell. Most people thought Frost and Rhule would get it done and we still aren’t very good.

I've seen some speculation that he wasn't happy about the private equity deal, so if that caused some friction with the admin I could see both sides agreeing to part ways
Yes that private equity deal played a huge part in him being forced out. The DC Scalley was the head coach in waiting for years but it was agreed that Whittingham would retire on his own terms. That changed once Whittingham rightfully called out the PE deal and he was gone 3 days after the deal was finalized.

From what I’ve heard they think they need someone else to get them over the top, like everyone else, the playoffs. Might be delusional, might be true, IDK… but a lot of them (Ute fans) think they’ve hit the ceiling with Whittingham.
After 20 yrs…sounds familiar

Yeah the HCIW things never actually work out well. Current HC is never ready to retire on the best timeline so he's either forced out or the HCIW bolts

Whittingham is as good as Michigan could do given the circumstance.

Great coach. Is obviously short term hire given the fact he just quit Utah. He is 66 years old. But really that’s what they need to guide them through this transition for the next five years or so.

He’s a caretaker until the hire someone younger and better after the retire him in a few years.

Retire in the State of Michigan?
Depends on the person. I love the outdoors and I love having four seasons. Cost of living and most of what I love doing is all Traverse City and North. I love the summers up here and low humidity. I love having actual Winter, and the fall is my favorite time of year here. I don't care for March, April, and early May here. The rest is great.

Yeah but the start bird is a bug in the summer and everyone in inbred in the UP. No go for me. Fishing/Hunting and the golf are pretty amazing though.

Isn’t there only four months of good weather. Cost of living I suppose and lakes.

I’m with Sauce, most of Michigan is really beautiful. Yes Michigan has some cities like Flint, Detroit, Saginaw, Benton Harbor and others that are shit holes. But the smaller towns and the countryside parts of Michigan are really awesome. Very quaint and charming. Upper peninsula is beautiful. Lots of natural lakes, dense forestation, great for all outdoor stuff. In the summer lol But you have ice fishing and hunting in the winter.

No outside of Michigan’s shit hole cities and the obnoxious wolf fans it’s really nice state. I’ve always said I could live there.
