Yea.

Like the fact temple won more games the 4 years prior to Rhule than they did during the 4 years he was there.
Okay, sure. And that’s a fair point. He also turned around Baylor and they were in an absolutely terrible situation when he got there, regardless of what their record was previously.

He didn’t turn them around

Baylor not only won more before he got there, they won the conference and produced a Heisman trophy winner/top 5 pick

He somewhat maintained their trajectory at literally the pinnacle of their football existence

Definitely don’t look at temple or baylors records before Rhule took over

We want to keep pretending those were “program builds”
Is there anything that happened at either of those schools prior to him getting there?

Like one moving to a harder conference or the other getting decimated by a huge scandal that led to a mass exodus of players?

I just don’t understand in Pedo state’s position when you have a pretty successful coach, if you are going to fire him, why you don’t already have feelers sent out and probably even a soft yes for his replacement. I get in most coaching searches that a lot of the time no replacement is lined up before time, but MOST of the time coaches are struggling to win. This carousel season is just wild….
There also is the possibility that they do already have their guy and he said I’m not done with my current team yet but it just doesn’t look that way right now.

Your post is a half-truth. The record part is true but what you’re leaving out is they were close to FCS levels of scholarship players when Rhule got there.

Just remember when Saban and Kirkstreit defend Kiffin it’s because they are all represented by the same agent…Jimmy Sexton
It’s funny coming from saban since he fired Lane due to the distraction of leaving for another job.

He failed at LSU and Notre Dame has a better coach now. I don’t think he is dog shit, but he isn’t some super coach at this point.
He flew too close to the sun at LSU but maybe a coach swap would satisfy both Ole Miss and LSU (our appetite for chaos).

Saban & Kiffin are with Sexton. Herbstreit is with the same firm, but Sexton doesn't represent him.

Saban v Kiffin at Bama, with Sexton in the middle, was crazy shit. At one point, Saban threatened to fire Sexton because of Kiffin. I can't remember who's book broke the info.

Your point stands on its own though. Throw in ESPN's ties with the SEC as well.

This doesn’t even make sense based on the weird statistical goal posts you set.
How so? Fitz won 9 or more games and/or competed in a conf championship game 6 of his 17 seasons. We took a gamble on a magical year three - a gamble we lost btw.

You were talking about the initial decision to hire Rhule and his prior college results showed the magical year 3 jump. If we’re talking about initial turnarounds, he had a better track record than Fitz in that regard.

My point is that just pointing to records without any additional context is stupid anyway. You’re totally free to think we should fire Rhule, and I do get the argument, but I think it requires deeper analysis then just playing the record comparison game.

Wow I’m surprised you could type this hogwash while simultaneously scissoring with @wildcat_husker
