I would applaud Ole Miss if they fired him for cause tomorrow. Every game left on the schedule is simultaneously the biggest game in Lane's career and the biggest game in school history. His job is to recruit Ole Miss. This is not just not doing your job. This is like not doing your job and making it harder for your organization to compete

I work in construction. If my top estimator or COO went across the street to another contractor bidding the same project and made a big show of spending the day there interviewing while we were prepping our best and final price I would question everything about their loyalty and committment. I would probably never trust them again. Especially if a golden handcuffs offer was on their desk
I work in construction too and interviewed for my same job and received an offer with our direct competitor for more money and ESOP. People do this all of the time in the real world for a step up or better culture. My title wouldn't change, but culture and pay would, and that is what I went after.

Man what I wouldn't give to for all of us to find out the poster you replied to is your boss

No problem with people leaving - Ive taken PTO to interview for better jobs

More about timing and activity. Check his twitter, he's showboating. Did the exact same thing last year less publicly

He’s done that forever. It’s part of the lane train experience. He would melt the fragile brains of husker fans with his trolling if he was ever here.

Yeah he seems to be having fun with it. He definitely knows how to play at a high level

Lane is intent on causing a second SEC school to riot by taking another job in the dead of night.

If LSU fans are crazy enough to have a guy hide in a bush at an airport, why not have a guy do some Lane cosplay?
Yeah. I just don't really believe that Lane doesn't know anything about Baton Rouge and would need to sneak a midweek visit

excited the waterboy GIF

LSU stalker fans upon Lane’s arrival off da plane.

While perusing articles today, a paragraph buried deep in here caught my eye.

Sources share with FootballScoop that Nebraska defensive line coach Terry Bradden. and Maurice Harris (who has worked under Hugh Freeze at multiple stops including as a co-coordinator at Liberty) are among the other candidates in play.

I’ve been in construction for my entire adult life and this is a fairly recent phenomenon. By recent, I mean post 2008 crash when everything started rolling again and craft workers and supervision/management couldn’t fill all the available positions. Since then (if you’re any good) you can almost literally write your own deal. Prior to the crash, it was tough to go anywhere because loyalty and longevity was something in most folks minds.

I’ve lost some good folks recently, but never in a lateral move. What I see primarily is guys who’re not really ready for the next step up in their career getting crazy offers and promotions because our competitors are desperate.

Agree . The craft side of things is ridiculous right now, but young engineers is ridiculous as well. Most of our young engineers think that after 1 year they should be the PM on a 300M dollar project, the bad part is a lot of these companies will then hire them as a Project Engineer after 1-2 years and then they fail and can't figure out why. The nuts part was when I started with Kiewit in 2007, 60% of the company was under 26 years old. There was a massive gap in the middle ground because you either stayed with them and road the wave of being moved every year of 7 months or you bounced because all of the companies loved Kiewit people because of how they were trained. Loyalty is essentially dead anymore and most of the younger folks will make a change for less than 5K salary uptick.

Kind of crazy to me how few of these have been filled by now. As far as I can tell, Franklin to Va Tech is the only one known to be hired, with at least 11 jobs still open.

Multiple blue bloods, & nobody can get their top candidate to sign on the dotted line? Or dudes like Kiffin & Hartline have deals in place, but have managed to avoid any leaks about it?
