Sign Up Now!These guys don’t necessarily think like that. I’m sure Lanning assumes he would be successful wherever he went. However, he’s got a pretty great set up at Oregon and could probably wait for a potential opening at Bama in a couple years.Feels like a bad idea, like a Saban to the Dolphins bad idea
I wonder if Phil Knight is more of a problem at this point. Infinite resources are fun unless the dude who is giving them to you has too many ideas outside of his laneFor how objectively good of a gig Oregon is, it’s crazy how much of a HC turnstile there is there.
Exactly. I don't think Deboer lasts past next year with their expectations. These guys don’t necessarily think like that. I’m sure Lanning assumes he would be successful wherever he went. True. Lanning is young though so it's not totally out of his world. On one hand, maybe. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to coach college if I could avoid it
That's why I'd stay away from that job if I'm Lanning. DeBoer is a very good coach but no one is Nick Saban and DeBoer will ultimately pay the price for that at some point.Exactly. I don't think Deboer lasts past next year with their expectations.
I think he's a perfect fit at Oregon, IMOThat's why I'd stay away from that job if I'm Lanning. DeBoer is a very good coach but no one is Nick Saban and DeBoer will ultimately pay the price for that at some point.
Lanning can have an occasional 3-4 loss season at Oregon and he won't get near the same level of heat. He can build a legacy at a place that isn't Tuscaloosa and decide if/when he wants to go to the NFL.
In fairness, Cristobal left to get into the heroin business. For how objectively good of a gig Oregon is, it’s crazy how much of a HC turnstile there is there.
I would coach anywhere that was paying me 8 million a year.On one hand, maybe. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to coach college if I could avoid it
I live out here so I'll add my $.02. I think it only recently became elite for HCs with NIL. I think pre-NIL it was a good job but it was not elite, which is why HCs left there for places like FSU, Miami or the NFLFor how objectively good of a gig Oregon is, it’s crazy how much of a HC turnstile there is there.
Of course Lanning has lost the will to live in his NFL stint and hires Brian Van Gorder as his DC and brings Scatterfield home as his OCLanning goes to NFL at the end of the year.
Rhule gets us close but not quite there over the next two years, leaving us bitter and sad but with a tinge of hope.
Rhule leaves to take over for Penn State claiming that it is home. He has done enough time at Nebraska to feel good about leaving.
Lanning shits the bed in the NFL that same year.
Nebraska hires Lanning quoting KC ties and some other horse shit.
Lanning is our future coach.
The simulation churns on.
Rhule fails. Traditionalists hold a golf tournament and raise money to port over the entire Army coaching staff.Of course Lanning has lost the will to live in his NFL stint and hires Brian Van Gorder as his DC and brings Scatterfield home as his OC
He proceeds to not produce a winning record in 3.5 seasons and is sadly fired after a Scott Frost led Buttgers Scarlet Knights team hangs 77 on him in Piscataway
And the simulation churns on
Wrong threadThey have 3 lucky ass catches so far. The simulation continues
