Yeah. I don't think it's wise to assume we're upgrading at every position. But at the same time I think people need to accept that you'll enter the season needing some guys who are currently on your roster to take leaps
The top guys in the portal are mostly replacement level at best, with a few potential difference makers sprinkled in.

Probably some young guys who can become stars, but would anyone really be surprised if they bring in that Cal receiver and he has like 1k receiving and immediately portals next off-season?

For sure...though this season in particular was always going to be the worst one on record shifting to the roster caps.

Almost every P4 team is above 105 players. There's going to be such a cluster in the portal this year, I think the next window is going to be worse when teams process more players.

Can't hate the dudes who are ending college with a few hundred Gs in the bank account before going pro at Enterprise
Oh I totally get it. It's just dumb in the way it all works out in terms of team building. I mean is tOSU better this year than last? They splashed in the portal and I'd argue downgraded at QB

The portal is basically, improve your weaknesses then replace the average guys with average guys. It's actually stupid lol
Since there are way more guys on rosters than there are roster spots this time, it is actually very much like Musical Chairs.

I’m sure most of them will blow it, but if you could stick $500k in an S&P index fund at 22 you’d be set for retirement basically.
Think Tim Robinson GIF by NETFLIX

It warms my heart that Ohio State and Ole Miss are basically in the exact same spots they were last year. No matter how much money is involved this ain't the league where dudes are picking up your playbook in an afternoon.
