I have always heard it was only a one year deal. I don't think he'd stay if there was no money. He graduates this month.

I thought I saw somewhere that he was medical hardship candidate and could come back potentially. I’d be okay with him coming back, but not at the expense of not doing a full reload at the position

I think the medical hardship possibility is revoked by the NCAA when you fail to catch passes that an average player would catch in two or more games and those plays end up costing you wins.

I was expecting a few dumb "let's bring him back! The new WR coach Shorts can probably change him" posts. I'm very impressed with this group for resisting the urge. He's like 24 at this point. He's not changing.

Feels like the spirit of this off-season probably has to be "we're going to lose some guys who contributed an awful lot to 6-6 football" and maybe Rhule doesn't have anything behind them that will contribute to >6-6, but Neyor is a 6-6 player, at best

I think, now that McGuire is gone, tPBers can be honest about some of these WRs. Neyor sucks. We all know it.

It was kind of funny to pretend that it was all McGuire's fault, but hopefully now we can all be honest with ourselves and admit that players like Neyor are mediocre at best.

Neyor was was a high potential, roller coaster guy who looked like an early round draft pick a couple times and a lazy choke artist at others. Only thing that scared off huge time interest in him when we grabbed him out of the portal was his injury history.

It ended up being mostly bust and not a lot of boom. Sometimes a good position coach (or OC with a coherent plan) can get a guy like that dialed in, sometimes they can't.
