1/3 Season Prediction thread

We are officially 1/3 of the way through the 2023 season and, for better or worse, we have a pretty good idea now of the strengths and weaknesses of our favorite squad. So given what we know, make a prediction for how many games we win for the remainder of the season.

The rest of our schedule is as follows:

Purdue

Maybe I’m feeling a little rosy after 2 straight victories, but I could see us winning 3 more. Some combo of Illinois, NW, Purdue, MSU, and Maryland.

Would love to be wrong but that’s how I see it shaking out. This team is good enough to win any of the games after Michigan but they’re not good or consistent enough to win all of the ones they should win either. It is what it is

Guessing 2 more, but its so hard with how similar every team in the big10 west seems to be. Every team in the division seems to play pretty good D and isn't scary at all on offense so those games will come down to big plays and turnovers. Which makes 2 seem very generous.

But who the fuck knows. We might find our mojo on offense (likely not) or regress (more likely than the former).

What’s more likely to happen is that like any group of kids we will swing erratically up and down the rollercoaster. The difference is that we have any actual coach unlike the last two jokers.

I think the biggest key here to figure out a way to win that game at Illinois. The Illini have serious issues along the offensive line, at QB, and their defense suddenly can't stop the run.

Win that game and I believe Nebraska can ride a lot of momentum going into and after the bye.

1. Prove you can win a game on the road.
2. Prove you can beat a team with similar talent.
3. Prove you can win what will likely be a close game.

Yeah I'm not sure if our awful brand of football will triumph over the other awful brands of football in the Big Ten west, but the real loser is anyone with eyeballs

Gonna seriously depend on the health of the team. We are so razor thin at some positions that one more injury could scuttle the whole thing. If we could finally get lady luck to shine her face on us for a change we could win a bunch, but who thinks that will happen?

Give me 3-4 more. Any combo of Pur-shit, Cockeye, Michigan State, Illinois, Maryland, NW. Heinrich starts I think we grind it out to a bowl game at 6-6, maybe 7-5. Sims starts and I think we turn it over to 4-8.

I don't think Colorado gets to a bowl game. They win 2 more. They've actually got a really tough schedule this year. Pac 12 is pretty good.

If we had a decent QB then 9 wins would have been a possibility with this team

I don't think Colorado gets to a bowl game. They win 2 more. They've actually got a really tough schedule this year. Pac 12 is pretty good.

I initially thought 6 or 7 for them after CSU, but it will be a tough road for them and they have to stay healthy. They are lucky they avoid Washington.

They will probably unexpectedly drop one of Stanford, ASU, or Arizona and then unexpectedly beat one of UCLA, OSt or Wazzu to get to 3 more. Utah seems like a terrible match up, particularly in the last week of the season, and USC is just flat better everywhere. If Shedouer gets hurt, it will be an implosion.

I think 6 wins with only losses to Michigan and Wisconsin. Also, when was the last time we played Wisconsin at home? It always seems like we are playing them at their house vice ours. Whoever does our schedules need to be fired.
