The Message Board Fallacy

Even before the OSU moral victory, I’ve had a few people give me the take “Well we should give him more time, do you know how many years it took TO to get his first national championship?”

To which I always responded “How many losing seasons did TO have?”

And the response was either, “Well the big 10 is tougher than the Big8” and “We’ll TO took a team from Delaney, Frost took a team from Mike Riley”.

So I agree, I think we’re going to have to deal with some staff shakeups and this whole rodeo with Frost again next year

For every person who shares your opinion and says stuff like “if Frost is retained I am done with Husker football,” there is another that says “if Frost is fired I am done with Husker football.” I don’t think a decision on Frost moves the needle much in terms of the sellout streak.

Again, we all think we are in the majority depending upon where we get our information. But someone has to be wrong.

I think the much more douchey thing is going to be when Frost isn’t fired (a scenario that id bet ends up playing out as it stands currently) watching this board freak out and talk about the exact same 3 things all off-season. Then it will have officially regressed to the mean.

I think there has been legit evidence to support one of those scenarios this year. Literally pulling tooth and nail trying to salvage the streak…

I don't think it's a "message board fallacy" at all. I have a couple of buddies that aren't on message boards, but think Frost should be done. I have another friend that is an Cockeye fan - he laughs at the idea that Nebraska will likely retain Frost for another year.

I think the retain-Frost crowd is made up of two people - casual fans and people who have lost all objectivity because they want Frost to succeed. Just my thoughts...

I don't live in Nebraska currently. All of the CFB fans I interact with straight up pity us and think we should've dumped Frost last year. Nebraska fans are just blinded by their love for Frost and refuse to acknowledge the reality of the situation.

Its pointless to engage directly. I wasted time over on the scrolls trying the direct and open discussion route.
