I thought Matt was OK, but yeah G Funk was the only real reason to listen to 1620 anymore. This is wild. Unless there’s some cause for termination this move makes zero sense. Assume it was a money thing, but I’m sure this will tank ratings. Gary carried that station.

Well, when your anchor show is hosted Bishop and Peterson who both seem to despise NU Athletics, it should be expected. You can't keep listeners when your hosts are Crayton apologists and go out of their way to throw shade at UNL. Still a lot more UNL fans than Crayton in this state.
USC is so bad now, but there’s no other local competition for that window.

Would be interested to know if Gary’s contract for UNO games is through the university or station. The irony would be Sharp still being heard on NRG stations even though he was laid off.

I have not listened to Gary on radio, but I do like him on the average Joe podcast. Seems to be a good guy.

Bishop and Peterson are horrible. Happer and Ravi are quite good IMO. McMaster is a less douchy version of Peterson.

I was living in San Diego during the spiral of the 2007 season and stumbled on their show online. It was fantastic, I was hooked from then on.
Way to get rid of your best person 1620, Jesus no reason to listen at all now. I despise listening to McMaster and UC has got worse every year.

USC has been a literal clown show for years. Pretty much since Petersen became co-host.
The other shows are trending that way, too. I’m not as out on Matt as it seems most are here, but Gary was the strongest talent on that station by a LARGE margin. Like Gary is Indiana and everyone else is this years CFP field.

Honestly, it’s Benning that I can’t stand. I actually like Ravi, Damon is just impossible to listen to.
Schick and Nick were/are pretty good when they're not too over the top (which is too often).
