Now remember - you can’t complain yet or else you’re turning this place into HOL. We’re only 3 days into the portal, Nebraska has time to fix it!

I’ll fucking say it and I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks. Rhule has completely lost what little momentum he had, kids don’t believe him or believe in him and this portal class is well on it’s way to being a huge embarrassing failure.

I said I’d give it a few days before I draw any broad conclusions. I’ve seen enough. Rhule has botched this and I don’t see him turning things around. I’m just stating what my eyes plainly see. I know some will say… “we won’t really know if Rhule blew it until several games into next season.”

Lol ok… you can wait and prolong your acceptance of the obvious. But it’s not gonna happen. We’re 100% fucked and Rhule will likely be fired after next season. (or he should be, we might be too cheap to fire him)

Said this yesterday before the Minchey news...got rebuked for "turning the message board into RSS"
I also said this yesterday. It's not a novel idea and seemingly obvious, yet NU doesn't want to live in reality. NU is the team that constantly states that things shouldn't be the way they are, rather than operate in the reality of it is what it is.

Fact is there is nothing exciting about the program right now.
If you are a college kid why would you go to Nebraska right now? Especially a qb.

If you go on X the entire fan base is an implosion. There’s absolutely no momentum in the program.

If you are a qb the narrative is Nebraska failed Raiola. And rhules other qbs at Nebraska has been failures.

Rhules job security is in question.

And then on top of all that you go low balled.

Fact is simple. When Nebraska reached out to Minchey 4-5 weeks ago(around Penn state week) the program was completely different than it is now. Rhule got dildo’d back to back to back.
If we paid Minchey $3m or whatever you’d be bitching about that instead. Just STFU already.

Our fans would also go insane if they found out we were paying a back up with 26 attempts $2 million.

I would rather pay Chiles $2 million than Minchey. I don’t know. The portal is so gay.

No it’s us, we’re gay, Nebraska. You don’t get to choose the environment you exist in, you can only choose how you navigate that environment. Winners find a way to succeed with the cards they’re dealt, losers complain about having a bad hand.

The positional cap is good in theory, but Nebraska(and FSU) dont have the recent success to set prices. Youre gonna have to overpay sometimes to get who you want when you arent producing results on the field and at the draft.

Texas Tech figured that out. If you arent the most desirable location/program/coach/etc, you have to overcome with Money.
Minchey and his Agent obv played Nebraska, but they also need to prevent that from happening in the first place
This. TT wasn't shit until this year. They were 8-5 last year in a weak ass B12 conference. They backed up the brinks truck and we all saw the results this year. Now are they maybe still doing some overpaying of players in the portal? Probably but I would venture to guess it's a hell of a lot less this year now that they've had some on the field success. We HAVE to spend HUGE at least one year to really move up in the world bc the on the field results just aren't getting it done which means we are going to have to buy it. I for the life of me cannot figure out why this staff can't figure that out.

Every team has a cap. Cap is just different for each team, and they're each bound by their own allocation. Yes, you'll have to overpay at some positions - that means it comes out of somewhere else. Overpay at QB, you're underpaying elsewhere.

We may also have it in our allocation to "overpay" relative to the market at some spots (and likely did for Minchey, beating out multiple heavily interested suitors), but won't over-overpay beyond the allocated overpay.

Every team is doing this general framework.

I can’t imagine anyone is offering that much to either tbf
Some schmuck will pay them more than their model says they're worth when they are out of options

If you're a damaged goods C tier QB waiting until bar close is your best strategy to maximize your earnings. Every QB left has some glaring red flag

Colandrea - extremely high variance in performance. Cooked awful competition. Notorious turnover machine at last P4 stop
Lagway - Prolific bust. Turnover machine
Chiles - Benched
Pribula - Bust
Deuce Knight - Third string in a bad offense. QB guru HC imported his guy and didn't mind seeing him walk
Raiola - literal clown. wears the makeup and performs and everything

These schools are probably still in the market:
Miami - Raiola at this point seems likely
Ole Miss - Chambliss isn't getting a waiver
Us
Clemson - supposedly has an offer in to Chiles that he feels is low
Virginia - same as clemson with Lagway
Baylor
Northwestern - Chiles visiting today
Oregon

Last year they said the room was deep and ended up giving one guy 97% of the snaps
don't take what they say seriously. Come on - they are trying to buck up the room, not provide analysis to the public. I'm surprised anybody takes what coaches say about their team in a public forum seriously

I think this is being mentioned in relation to our reported lack of interest in a RB.

Are we at the point where we're complaining about the coaching staff giving a first team all-American too much PT?
Not at all, just calling attention to the fact that they pumped up what was behind Emmet until they saw it on the field

Now they love those same guys enough to stay out of the portal. Hard not to notice the pattern
