Outside of special teams, tell me one thing

There is no reason to even try and have a logical discussion today. To many overly emotional and irrational (prolly drunk) people to do that.

Quick points on why you keep him…

1. Youngest team in the B1G with real talent in the Sophomore and freshman groups that played important roles this year…whether they were forced to or not.

2. Rhule has shown he will make changes to the staff when and where necessary.

3. Starting QB goes down at USC. Say what you will about DR, that REALLY hurt us.

4. Supposed big NIL money spend locked and loaded.
Gonna be fascinating if the Rhule culture can survive this end to the season. Zero buzz right now. Might get some guys poached. Gonna have to overpay for anyone that will listen in the portal. All leads to yet another negative return on investment. Is there a worse performing stock in all of sports? I doubt it.

I agree. Will be must watch TV for sure.

Don’t feed the trolls. Important rule to follow on forum boards.

If you don’t know, step away troll.
It’s a serious questions.
It’s a young team yes, but where’s the real talent.
Pretty simple question.

Freshman and sophomores that have played a good amount this year

Jacory Barney — Probably the best on the list. But he truthfully hasn’t done much of anything in the pass game in the big 10. He disappears a lot.
Quinn Clark - very limited. Can’t call him a real talent yet
Cortez Mills — See clark
Keelan Smitb — see Mills
Carter Nelson — pretty much only plays special teams
Isaiah Mozzee — has done pretty much nothing
Williams Nawarni — played well against weak non conf opponents. Didn’t do much in the big 10 games
gabe Moore- lol
Riley Van Poppel - lol
Keona Davis — MEH
Dylan Rogers — has been good and bad. Nothing special
Dawson Merritt — has played. Definitely can’t call him a real talent off production. Just off recruit rankings.
Donovan Jones— ok probably the best. But does he go to Cockeye this offseason?
Rex Guthrie — special talent at being out of position
Jeremiah Charles — hasn’t really done anything note worthy

Young sure. But the young talent isn’t really doing much of anything

We're technically a young team but none of those guys look like they're poised to be difference makers.

Very Disappointing, but Nebraska literally lost their starting QB who made the entire offense's engine run. All of our seasons predictions were based on assuming he was playing. You can question the strategy of that, but the offense was built around him. He was supposed to be the guy who was elevating Nebraska. And for the most part he did.

OL is the biggest disappointment of the year. All offseason we were under the assumption that not only were they good, they were a strength of the team. They ruined the early part of the year for us and ultimately led to Raiola getting hurt.

Emmitt Johnson. What a baller. It sucks this good of a season was wasted.

Im already moved on to 2026. Rhule is not going anywhere, so we can cry about that another day. This season just needs to be proof that our boosters need to go all in on the portal. If Nebraska got just 1 of those key tackles that we were after last year, they are probably at least 9-3 and that is with our defensive problems. We cant play Moneyball. Go be a big boy and buy the best players.
This plus his extension says the University has to provide nationally competitive NIL. I guess that is subjective but I would much rather see quality players out there vs Rex, our DL etc.

You aren’t a serious person at this moment.

And you didn’t list the best you D-lineman either.

There isn’t one person here who has high expectations. This is such a crap argument. I guess expecting to play the game with discipline and execute basic plays and for our players to play better at the end of the season than at the beginning of the season is too high of expectations. There is no friggen excuse for how this season ended.
It might just be the gummie I ate, but your avatar came to life and read your post to me! lol

Dylan improved his completion percentage 5 points and went from 13-11 on TD-Int to 18-6, so his development seems like it was on schedule even if the play calling and offensive identity was sus.

Emmitt went from being a decent back to an all-American.

TE play also went from fairly bad across the board last year to solid across the board this year.

Now how you improve your top 2 offensive guys & somehow still don't show a significant jump in offense overall is a whole other thing that doesn't instill confidence, but there have been players who have developed nicely.

Do some of you remember the Frost era? The coaching is so much better than back then. The discipline is night and day, and we’ve clearly developed some fringe talent into contributing players. Those are signs of good coaching.
I’m and idiot and can’t read. Thought this thread was the Bo thread.

D Staff
Secondary - Marvin Sanders. Outstanding coach. Developed tons of dudes in the back end.
LBs. Eck.
DL. Carl pelini. Incredible DL coach. Also. A massive piece of shit.

Offense.
Cotton and Garrison. Despite my dislike of Barney. They did identify and develop a lot of OL. They were at least serviceable compared to the OL as of late.

WR coach. Golf coach dude. He was actually pretty solid. IDed and developed several guys.

Ron Brown. Recruited and developed a lot of RBs.

Tim Beck. Despite many short comings. Our offenses were better and more explosive under him.

I don’t want to hear the discipline argument when we can’t align right in week 12. Not line up in tve neutral zone in week 12. Or not pick up any semblance of twist game.

You’re joking right.

He was talking about Frost, you're talking about Pelini.

Woof. I can’t read.

Not saying this staff is amazing or anything, and the lining up in the neutral zone is one thing that is inexcusable. Can’t believe how many times that happened this year.

But I think the losses this season have been more due to nonexistent defensive line recruiting in 2021 and 2022, and playing a bunch of first and second year players on defense, than inept coaching.

If anything, Dana has been the most disappointing coach to me, considering the talent and experience on that side of the ball. But for some reason he gets a pass because people predetermined that he’s good.
