I'd argue that the biggest improvement came once Corcoran took over the RT spot. So that begs the question why Teddy and Gunner were ahead of him in the first place. Both of them were just plain awful no way around it.
Yes, it’s hard to say why. Could be many things.

Bottom line though, is they continued to get better all season long.

Idk. I really don’t. We’ve made bowls twice in a row, which is more than Frost did.

That said, we look like shit. We look soft, and poorly coached. We should be looking to emulate Cockeye. They play smart, sound football. They don’t beat themselves. Fuck, Minnesota does that. Northwestern does that. We can’t seem to.

Rhule talks a big game, but leaves a ton to be desired. The same guys who fuck up game after game are trotted out. Same for the coaches. He kept Satterfield and Foley long past when he should have.

If the NIL situation is actually better, than I have some confidence things get better. We have some young talent. We have to get better along the lines. Without that 7-5 is about our ceiling.

Our offense makes no sense. If Rhule is gonna insist on running Satt’s system with Holgo calling plays, that’s idiotic. If Rhule wants to be a power run team, that’s great. Hire someone who can run that.

Defense needs to improve massively. Tackling and the fundamentals are horrible. That’s coaching, pure and simple.

Ekeler did a lot of good. The vaunted Archie Wilson had his moments, but a lot of times was mediocre or worse. Return game started the year well, then was complete dogshit down the stretch.

Depending on where it is, I might go to the bowl game. Always good to see some of you sick fucks in person.

I’m about to order a large amount of pizza and junk food. Might play some NCAA Football 2004 and run the option all over Cockeye.

I love you all.
We need Jimmys and Joes on both sides of the ball. We need portal additions for sure.

Rhule has had basically two real recruiting classes to develop.

In fairness there have been a lot of sophomores (his first class) and Rs.Fr. Playing more meaningful minutes than they should have to.

many of those have shown some real flashes of serious talent during the season.

Many of those will benefit from another year of development as they go into their Junior years.

I know people are looking for anything to take solace but I would like to know why our OL starts each season looking suspect and only makes gradual incremental improvement starting sometime after the midpoint of our season. It's been that way every single season Unc has been the OL coach. Starts out looking like shit then by the end of the season they are OK and people touch themselves because of improvement and want to say that Unc isn't the problem. Rinse and repeat.

Injury to your best player and starting QB. Pretty obvious what you’ll see from there. Low T chicken littles will, of course, chicken little.
Yeah, almost nobody succeeds in college football with a backup qb. You just never see it. And certainly not when they play Nebraska.

Like, can you imagine if your starter went down and you had to win games with Jeff Sims?

Minnesota, Cockeye, Illinois, NW all have an identity. Tough play, good special teams (especially cockeye), good LOS play, stingy defenses. They don't get great skill player talent a lot, though.

The ability to attract better skill player talent overall than those schools listed above makes our ceiling higher (and the fact that we are barely still a blue blood), but with subpar LOS play, that negates the skill player advantage (which even that advantage is not aways there for us vs those teams in reality, just the prospect that we usually have or can recruit/portal in better skill player talent overall than those schools).

If we concentrate on building a pipe line of consistently good LOS play and players in the trenches, that will be 75% of whats need to truly get back on track. I still don't think we will ever get back to yearly top 10 level status. I think the game has changed too much for that to happen for us. But at least get us to yearly top 25 level status.

You aren’t wrong. Can’t argue and won’t argue that point.

And they did improve. Like you, I want to see us come out in game one at minimally the level they did the previous season if we have continuity.

Pretty tough on any coach when you’re starting QB drops these numbers…

Be curious to know if there’s anybody still in the TJ should replace Dylan camp lol…
