Rhule to PSU / Dyl-Gone Raiola Schizo Panic Thread

It was stated before in a bomb shelter thread last year, I believe, that Dom was shopping Dylan around. I could be mistaken but that's how I remember it.
Let's not act like it wasn't a huge gamble sending Dylan to Nebraska. 7 losing seasons in a row. Hadn't been to a bowl game in 8 years. Unproven (at the time) new head coach. Previous coach botched his recruitment. Not the most alluring place to send the number 2 QB in the county.

To send your kid to a school like that when he could have gone to Georgia or tOSU, it needs to be worth it financially IMO. I don't mind his dad looking out for him and making sure he is taken care of. The whole taking interviews and what not, that's weird in my book. Has "pageant mom" written all over it.

I'm a fan of Dylan. My post history would confirm that.

But, four high schools in three years. Committed to OSU then decommitted, committed to Georgia then decommitted. Then, there's been a lot of talk about Dom shopping his son around in the offseason. Now Dayton has decommitted. There's a trend.

I'm not going to join in on bashing the Raiolas but I've kind of stopped sticking up for them.

The only Raiola I’ve said anything negative about was Dom. I think Dylanis a great QB and hope he’s our QB next year. I hope Dayton balls out wherever he ends up.

I just don’t like how Dom does his business perceivably, when it comes to his kids.

Almost every OL who was any good is a little touched in the head in some way.

There are a few things with Dom that rub me the wrong way, but I also think most of the alleged issues are also quite exaggerated.
It's probably best to accept some level of it. I'm sure all the coaches know or understand the chances of getting an overbearing parent skyrocket for five star athletes.

Which is sad, considering Raiola is the winningest QB at Nebraska since Tommy Armstrong. Most Nebraska fans are delusional and only know knee jerk reactions.
Agreed, brought us to our first 2 bowl games since 2016 and people are ready to throw him away for the true freshman because he can run.

I just wish Dylan never committed and we didn’t lose our chance at Sam Leavitt, cause if Dylan didn’t flip I still think Leavitt ends up being our starter the past 2 years.

I want Dylan to stay, but don’t really see how it’s the end of the world if he leaves. Either Lateef plays well the next two weeks and we ride with him or we go shopping for a QB in the portal. We’ll have plenty of money to spend to be a player in that market if necessary.

Rhule knows what he is doing, he doesn’t just cut bait with Dayton without thinking of Dylan. There were either conversations beforehand with the Raiola family and everyone came to a consensus that maybe it’s best for Dayton to find another school for his career.

Or

Rhule is actively trying to get Dylan Raiola to leave.

There is no inbetween scenario where Rhule is being blindsided. A scholarship for a backup QB means nothing. There’s no reason to pull a scholorship from Dayton if you think it would result in Dylan leaving If you wanted to keep him. If his plans involve keeping Dylan, you just keep Dayton and let him be Davila for 1 year. Nebraska could just cut Davila if it was a numbers thing.

For that reason I think it’s the first scenario, I cant Imagine Rhule is wanting to put all his eggs in the LaTeef basket already

If we did end up going portalling for a QB, I'm throwing a huge bag at Sam Leavitt

I wouldn't discredit the role an entire overhaul and professionalization of the football organization had to do with this

What was Dylan's WAR last year? This year? Probably not worth being a top 3 highest paid player in the conference

His WAR? Wtf, this isn’t baseball & even then WAR sucks.

Leavitt is the prototypical Rhule QB. He told you that himself two years ago

Accurate, gamer, and mobile enough to get a 1st on 3rd and 7.

There are probably 5 of those in the portal this year. Luke Altmeyer is one of those, Rocco Becht, etc. Not saying those guys will be available but thats the mold.

Lateef is closer to that than he is to Dylan
