Rhule to PSU / Dyl-Gone Raiola Schizo Panic Thread

Isn’t all of this supposition? I’ve never definitively heard Dominic was pimping the kid out, post commitment to NU. I know he garnered significant interest from other programs last year, but I don’t necessarily lay that at Dom’s feet. I also don’t blame Dom for being in his own son’s ear. He’s been through all of this, granted different position and different time, but I understand why he’d offer his opinions.

I’m actually torn on the whole thing. I appreciate the fact that Dom did a sales job on Dylan about Nebraska’s history, fans, etc. and what it would mean to all of that if Dylan would be part of the group and maybe the focal point of the class or classes that brought Nebraska back to being ‘Nebraska’. He placed a ton of faith in Rhule and the rest of the staff to make the most out of Dylan’s time here. I have to wonder what I’d have done in his place. He had opportunities to play with perennial contenders and not have to suffer through the growing pains of going from what Nebraska was when he got here to what we all hope it is when he leaves. I don’t know how hard I sell the whole thing to him if he’s my kid, and I love Nebraska.

This off season could be a really interesting one depending on the results of the next three games. We win out with Lateef…. man. Dom and Dylan have to know he’s in for a fight to win the starting job next fall.
It was stated before in a bomb shelter thread last year, I believe, that Dom was shopping Dylan around. I could be mistaken but that's how I remember it.

That probably predates me. I don’t join until January.

I wonder if the originator of those comments had direct knowledge?

I can absolutely see people reaching out to Dom, and have no idea what those conversations would have been like.

I'll be honest, I'm finding it really hard to care about any of this

This is the new normal in college football and it's going to kill fan interest
I'm 45, my perspective of Nebraska Football has changed dramatically in the last 5 years. I have a freshman in high school who still has a football game to play and then will immediately go into basketball. I have a 6th grader that I coach his basketball team and help with his baseball team. While I'll never NOT love Husker football, I'm really only concerned with the games at this point. All of the other stuff is unnecessarily dramatic and whinny. Too much life going on to care about what 18 and 20 y/o kids will or won't do.

I'll ride with the guys who wear the N year in and year out. Those who don't want to, that's fine too. Everyone is replaceable and everyone will be replaced at some time.

GBR!

I'm shocked by the potatoes I've gotten. I didn't realize how many Dom Raiola dickriders were here.

I don’t like Dom either, think he’s a bit too involved but I’m not there so I don’t really know. You’re sure acting like you’re there and know what’s going on to have such a strong opinion of him based on a few things that were posted on a message board. Also not sure why you’re acting like Dom should care about what’s best for Nebraska instead of what’s best for his son. Without Dom, Dylan isn’t even here & if we’re being honest that’s probably what would’ve been best for Dylan. Julian Sayin looks pretty damn good this year.

I'm not there so I don't know for sure. I'm posting based on my opinion of the info that's been shared here. I also stated that as a father I understand doing what's best for your kid financially. I also stated as a fan, that I don't have to like or respect the way he goes about it. I also agree that OSU probably would have been best for Dylan overall.

I don't know...Will it kill fan interest? Just look at our society in general. This country revels in conspiracy, lies, deception, and innuendo.

College football has never been more popular than now.

I don't disagree with your about caring about any of this, but Americans in general are enamored by this stuff.

The way he goes about it? You have absolutely zero clue how Dom goes about anything, so quit acting like you do. Because of your fandom, you’re acting like Dom should put what’s best for Nebraska over what’s best for his kid. Let’s hope your children aren’t D1 athletes, or you’ll probably make the same mistake Dom did, sending your kid to Nebraska.

Also, Americans in general, are dumb! It's sad, but true.

Jesus you must be fun at parties. That or you're completely in love with Dominic Raiola seeing how you can't tolerate him receiving criticism.

I don’t like him cause he was going on the radio and doing interviews talking about Dylan’s recruitment when he was in high school. Seemed like weirdo behavior from a parent. But I’m not gonna act like he’s not the only reason Dylan is here, despite the fact it’s probably not what was best for Dylan.

When did I say he wasn't the only reason Dylan was here? I don't understand why you're getting a hard on for my posts right now.
