Anybody have any luck yet this rifle season? Passed a few decent ones this morning only to watch the neighbors plow one of them

Pretty slow by Friend. My 78 year old father got a nice one. Showed up about 90 minutes after dawn, sat in a lawn chair for 15 minutes and then shot it in the ass. He thinks it’s his last year going out but I think he will do something as long as my mother still wants to hunt.

All the bucks we had in camera basically disappeared and I didn’t see much. I did start and finish a book so not a total loss.

Just bought the Ballista BAT Reverse Draw crossbow. Looks like a fun little toy, and will post some pics when it comes. Excited to try it out.

Spent the weekend hunting Pine Ridge area. Weather didn't cooperate with us. Had highs in the low 70s Saturday and Sunday with overnight lows in the upper 40s. Rain all day Monday. Heavy fog Tuesday.

Saw at least a hundred different deer. Mostly fawns and 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 year old does and bucks. That area has a deer population problem, but they're all so young. The last 2 years out there all does had twins with them and it's showing now. The outfitters are shooting up the mature bucks and no one is managing the doe numbers.

I did get a shot at a nice 5x5 Monday in the rain at 1:30 in the afternoon. I was walking back to the sxs in the middle of a wide open cow pasture and he had me spotted about 150 yards away. I got down to the ground in the middle of wet cow shit, put my scope on him but couldn't see through it because of the rain. I cleaned it off, put it back on him, he stomped, snorted, and was able to get a shot at him. Found a ton of hair but no blood. Hunters on neighboring property saw him the next day on our side. I'll be out there in a couple weeks for muzzleloader with my son, so hopefully he gets a shot at him.

No idea, must of got bumped. My dad houses it. I was hitting way over target

Did you run any rounds thru prior to actual hunt or just grab and go?

Check the mount to ensure its securely installed, they sometimes can loosen and yup, that'll change shit.

It gets real poppy around my place about a month before the season opens. Everyone is checking thier sights and optics.

Good luck
