I was seven years old and can still remember my Dad going crazy when they punt went over the Miami punters head. And then running around with my siblings after we won.

Since we are likely to win another nattie next year or the year after, I figure it’s a good time to relive these old championships to prime ourselves for what is to come.

I was in utter disbelief. After getting absolutely hosed by the refs the previous year, and losing so many consecutive bowl games, it felt like a hill we'd never get to the top of, and the game was an uphill slog until the 4th quarter. I can still remember Kent Pavelka's call of Kareem Moss's game-clinching interception.

Everyone was so excited and wanted to share the experience (the internet wasn't a real-time mass interaction place yet), so everyone got in their cars and started driving around. I was in the back seat hanging out the window with a Husker flag & waving at everyone we passed.

72nd & Dodge just sort of happened organically because so many people were driving around, then more and more people started getting out to stay there. So much fun.

I was 7 and my dad was parting all night

I was 6. One of my first Husker memories. Watched the game in the living room with my family. Over the next few years I grew up thinking winning natties was normal.

It’s been Downhill from there. I’m 36 now and I can only pray we get one more before I die.

I was 15, watching at home. It was such a fun night with about 25 family and friends.

I celebrated later that night with multiple viewings of Skinemax.

I was about to get out of the Marines. My staff Sgt kept talking all kinds of shit too about Nebraska. Loved watching him eat them words as I laughed in his face

Those were the best of times! I was in my late 20’s and living in Sioux Falls. I was getting all the Husker info from the World Herald, and it was only sold at a few spots. (I was always amazed how they could get the paper to Sioux Falls, and get it on the racks before the sun came up some days!) I’d get to those spots super early, and there would be other Husker fans waiting as well! I’d usually keep the sports section, and throw the rest of the paper away! During that game I was yelling for Oz to bench the white boy all night! I was a huge fan of TF! I also loved LP! Erstad was the fucking man on that team! For you “youngs” out there, just google “double extra point”. Also, I can’t forget about John Vedral from SD on that team! He made the cover of SI after the natty. I got pretty wasted the night of the natty, and woke up my baby, and pissed off my wife! All worth it! I got a Husker Starter jacket for my birthday a month after the game and never really wore it because it just wasn’t my style. It went to Goodwill. I wish I had it today, it might be worth more than my 401k! GBR

I was 13 at my parents house in upstate CT. We were transplants but we had converted some close friends into die hard fans. I remember his dad and his best friend (since moving) jumping up and down on the couch like they were kids. (My brother and I were jumping on the couch too). I’ll never forget that game. That Schlesinger run is burned into my brain. My all time favorite radio/TV call, albeit by a narrow margin.

I was sitting in my apartment with my buddies and our girlfriends. I wen't to class with a lot of those dudes on that team. Played pickup BB games with them. Hell Christian Peter owned my best friend for 3 months after bailing him out of jail.lol

It was amazing, beautiful, fulfilling, and the greatest sense of relief in my "all Husker related" lifetime.

Long ass time ago!
