Trust me, that’s where they’re headed already. He’s not capable of thinking for himself. Put your kids in private school.
I doDo you want the answer to this?
🧾
The thread begins with user Cavalot posting an AI-generated roundup summarizing recent media coverage about Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule and speculation that he might be a candidate for the Penn State head coaching job. The summary compiles quotes, press conference comments, and analysis from outlets like ESPN, CBS Sports, Husker Corner, and Corn Nation.
🏈
Cavalot’s post outlines:
- Rhule’s strong ties to Penn State (alumnus, friends with AD Pat Kraft) but his public commitment to Nebraska.
- His comments suggesting frustration with Nebraska’s resource limitations.
- Media interpretations split between:
- Local sources (Corn Nation, Husker Corner) thinking he’ll stay.
- National outlets suggesting he’s a logical Penn State target.
- Conclusion: Rhule likely stays at Nebraska for now, but the speculation remains due to his Penn State roots.
💬
The thread quickly derails from Rhule discussion into an argument about AI use on the forum:
- herbsinator dismisses the post as “AI slop.”
- greybeardedchild expands on that, calling AI “glorified predictive text” and warning against trusting it as factual.
- Cavalot defends his post, saying it’s just a useful summary of public sources, not presented as original reporting.
- He argues AI is a research and efficiency tool, not something replacing human thought.
- He points out that his sources were real (CBS, ESPN, etc.), not fabricated.
😤
- Several users (Pepe Silvia, Bulldog10, herbsinator) mock or dismiss AI, saying no one wants “AI articles” on the board.
- Cavalot repeatedly pushes back, maintaining a calm but firm defense.
- Moderators and veteran posters (cwessel76, Baron Winnebago) chime in to joke or defuse tension.
- A few (Mavsker) say they would like the full articles posted.
- The thread devolves into AI jokes, memes, and sarcastic banter about “robot overlords” and “AI genies.”
⚖️
- Cavalot posts a detailed AI-generated summary of Matt Rhule rumors.
- Half the forum reacts negatively, calling it lazy or unoriginal.
- Cavalot defends AI as a legitimate summarization tool.
- Discussion shifts from football to AI ethics and usefulness.
- Ends with humor, memes, and mild trolling, not much substantive football talk.
In short:
The thread started as a factual recap of the Rhule/Penn State situation but quickly turned into a culture clash over using AI on sports forums — with a mix of defensiveness, mockery, and jokes overtaking the original topic.
Is canvas AI? I suppose it might be a form of it. Although it doesn't write the assignments quizzes or tests. Just grades them.Cav is a school teacher that uses AI to grade his student’s papers that are also written by AI. Society is doomed
Yeah not really. Nice try though.Trust me, that’s where they’re headed already.
I’d prefer to keep them away from teachers like you, I think.Yeah not really. Nice try though.
There will always be public schools and you and your kind better damn well be thankful for them. Keeps the riff raf out of your pristine whitewashed private schools...am i right?
How much water does it take to produce an ai generated answerI do
LOL ok. Because I used ai on a football chat board? lolI’d prefer to keep them away from teachers like you, I think.
It looked like you were struggling to form a complete sentence in the post above.LOL ok. Because I used ai on a football chat board? lol
Maybe you have other reasons, but AI is not going away so I'd rather someone teach my kids about it (in addition to what I can do at home)I’d prefer to keep them away from teachers like you, I think.
This is brilliant. Well played. and yes still typing. lolChat GPT had fun with this thread.

INT. DIGITAL VOID – AFTERNOON
The neon glow of a Husker message board hums like an empty gym at halftime.
A new post blinks to life.
CAVALOT (Linebacker, 188 posts, 212 Likes)
(overly formal, self-important)
Good afternoon, esteemed posters.
I’ve compiled an AI-assisted meta-summary of Matt Rhule’s rumored candidacy for Penn State.
He posts an absurdly long, citation-stuffed essay. It’s formatted like a doctoral thesis written by Microsoft Word Clippy.
HERBSINATOR (Quarterback)
(sniffs screen)
What in the ChatGPT hell is this?
PEPE SILVIA
It’s an AI article! Bro copy-pasted homework from Skynet.
GREYBEARDEDCHILD
AI’s just predictive text for people who type with one finger.
BULLDOG10
Nobody asked for a Wikipedia page, Professor Copy-Paste.
CAVALOT
(defensive, smug)
It’s called research, gentlemen.
Some of us prefer data over gut feelings.
BARON WINNEBAGO
(laughing)
You prefer data? Then how come your post reads like an insurance pamphlet written by a Roomba?
ALCAUS
Nah, let him go. This is better than the spring game.
INT. DIGITAL VOID – MOMENTS LATER
Cavalot, unfazed, begins typing again. The post box fills with manic energy.
CAVALOT
(lecturing tone)
Look, I use Canvas, IXL, HUDL... it’s all technology.
Would you prefer chalkboards and carrier pigeons?
TAMPABAYSKERS
(laughing emoji)
Cav grades papers written by AI, using AI, while lecturing about AI.
It’s a circle of dumb.
KAZMAN5K
Quick, someone unplug him before he assigns us homework.
HERBSINATOR
Bro’s arguing with strangers on a sports board like it’s parent-teacher conference night.
BARON WINNEBAGO
(to the crowd)
The clown car’s arrived, boys — and it runs on Wi-Fi.
CAVALOT
(irate, missing the joke)
Laugh all you want. Technology is the future.
Do you still draw plays with markers? LOL!
GREYBEARDEDCHILD
Yes. Because it works. Unlike whatever you’re doing.
MAVSKER
I just came here for football rumors. How did we get a TED Talk?
INT. DIGITAL VOID – EVENING

Day Three of the Cavalot Crisis.
The thread began with a football rumor and devolved into open keyboard warfare.

Well done, soldier. Carry on.
CAVALOT
(proudly, missing the sarcasm)
Thank you! I strive for academic clarity.
TAMPABAYSKERS
You strive for being the weirdest guy in Nebraska, and you’re succeeding.
KALADIN (Professor of Aesthetics)

Brothers, calm thine thumbs!
Let not this thread become a Tower of Babble-on!
Remember: blessed are the posters who log off.
BARON WINNEBAGO
(shouting)
Amen, Reverend — now delete the AI prophet!
CAVALOT
(to Herbsinator, his final stand)
There’ll always be public schools, pal.
Otherwise, where would you people learn to spell “AI”?
The silence that follows is brutal.
GREYBEARDEDCHILD
(to everyone)
He really thinks he won that.
A red banner flashes across the top of the thread:

EPILOGUE
2010SARNEVERCOMINGBACK (V.O.)
The thread began with football.
It ended with a teacher yelling at ghosts.
We may never know if Matt Rhule’s leaving,
but we do know that Cavalot’s still typing... somewhere.
Go Big Red.
AI will hopefully keep my kids away from the riff raff with personal tutoring w/o the inflated tuition.Yeah not really. Nice try though.

I use AI in some capacity for my job, but the key is really understanding what it can and can’t do. If you can give it the proper context and facts, then it can be a great tool. But a lot of the time it’s garbage-in, garbage-out. For example, in the OP, its information is limited to what’s publicly available on the internet. There has not been a single article written up to this point that has any actual relevant facts or information, beyond pure speculation. Therefore, whatever AI spits out on this topic is necessarily going to be worthless. If AI had access to TPB, NCIU and whatever the PSU equivalents are, then it would be a different story.Maybe you have other reasons, but AI is not going away so I'd rather someone teach my kids about it (in addition to what I can do at home)
Beautiful thing about America. We all have choices. And now we have the glory of AI too.AI will hopefully keep my kids away from the riff raff with personal tutoring w/o the inflated tuition.
So with that said. What is wrong with summarizing what is currently available so that others don't have to go out searching for it?I use AI in some capacity for my job, but the key is really understanding what it can and can’t do. As for my kids, they’re 4 and 2 so we have some time to figure it out. I don’t even let them look at an iPad or watch TV at this point!
