im completely OUT on Dylan

Dylan takes too many sacks.
Dylan is also in the top 20 or so of every major passing stat

I don't really understand what the argument is here other than "I miss having a scramble-y boi"

People just want to be mad about winning. Look at the Jalen Hurts hate. Ludicrous iyam.

Makes even less sense here given the last 15 years.

One thing fans need to recognize is a passing only qb is going to take more sacks. It’s about what his arm does on the other plays. He is a net positive just how most of Nebraska’s running backs playing qb were a net positive due to their legs, even with their arm punts, yolo bombs, and noodle arms.

He’s not Tanner Lee.

DR is fine, good enough to win games. He takes care of the ball, takes what the defense gives him (maybe to a fault). Generational, program-changing talent we were hoping he'd be, though? Probably not tbh. That doesn't mean we need to bench him, but just being realistic. Really need to see more happening down the field, but in stark contrast to his high school tape which was nothing but deep balls, he's kind of a check-down king at this level.

I also can't believe the number of people who forget this kid is still a true sophmore. This is his second season of college football in the toughest conference in the country, is completing %75.6 of his passes while being sacked 15 times and he's still not old enough to drink a beer yet.
He's ranked anywhere from 7th to 25th in the country at QB depending on the site, and has pushed Nebraska to the best opening records since 2016.

So yea.....let's be OUT on Dylan. FFS.

I don’t think the experience card is a valid excuse anymore. He has now started what? Around 18 games in his college career. I would venture to guess that is more than the majority of starting quarterbacks in FBS football this year.

I think the best way to sum up OP and those down on DR in this thread is with a gif from @BingoDingo

He'd be considered green as baby shit if he went into the draft with 18 starts so I think inexperience is still a factor

It's actually right in the middle of QB's in the big 10, and only 2 or 3 more than the 12th spot in the big 10. Same for age. Yet he's 4th in the conference for passing yards, despite being sacked many, many more times than the others.

The point being, he still has growth to go. There's a reason teams with senior QB's tend to get higher ranking going into a season, because they have the experience underclassmen don't. The high bar expectation we are putting on an underclass QB is a fan problem, not an accurate depiction of where he's at development-wise.

Dylan’s numbers against B1G competition:

4-7 record
240/365 2,427 passing yards 11 TD 11 INTs
57 rushes -148 yards 0 TDs

If he wasn’t a 5 star legacy, the majority of the fanbase would be calling for Lateef.

For comparison, here’s Adrian’s numbers in his first 11 conference games:

4-7 record
224/356 2,592 passing yards 17 TD 9 INT
156 rushes 718 yards 6 TDs
We also thought Adrian was a Heisman contender going into his sophomore year based on those stats. There were people on RSS saying they'd take him over Trevor Lawrence.

Unfortunately he got worse his sophomore year.

When you don't exclude the nonconference Martinez doesn't change much. Raiola does considerably.

Raiola
Freshman year
274/413 66.3% 2,816 yds 13/11
Sophomore
118/160 73.75% 1,331 yds 12/2

Martinez
Freshman year
224/348 64.3% 2,616 yds 17/8
Sophomore year first 5 games. Enter the S Alabama zone coverage
76/128 59.4% 1,101 yds 7/5
