Reason #329 for avoid cruise ships

My wife and I prefer regular resorts, this being one of the reasons. Never have taken a cruise but my parents really enjoy them. Dad is saying he wants to take the whole family on an Alaskan cruise for my parents 50th anniversary in 2 years so that will be probably our one cruise my wife and I try.
Same on the resort vacations, excepting air travel issues we've always had good luck with those. An Alaskan cruise on a highly regarded line/ship would be the exception for us as well, actually planning to do that at some point...should've qualified my response to apply to the Carnival and other "budget" options, those are Hell No.

I hated the concept of them until we did the Disney cruise about 18 months ago. It didn’t feel over crowded except for getting on and off. And everything in between was pretty relaxing. If I’m being honest the unlimited soft serve was probably what made me love it.
Disney is the way to go. Prices out the riff raff and the kids always have something to do. Will never go on a cruise that isn't Disney

My in-laws love these things... I am pretty meh to them, but I do like getting to hit up 3 or 4 different countries in a week or so. Kids love them... I crush the free pizza on Royal Caribbean pretty much every night. Walked off the cruise with a 170 dollar casino ticket voucher accidentally and called them up to see how I can cash it "you need to cash it on a Royal Caribbean Casino in the next 30 days" so that was fun.

Went on a cruise for our honeymoon. Haven't been on one since. Alaskan cruise would be the exception as many have said but even that isn't top priority for future vacations.
One cruise was enough for me. Never again do I want to be stuck on the same ship with the same people for a week or more.

There was a big group from Atlanta on my cruise. Super annoying people with the worst southern accent imaginable. The accent that sounds like they are borderline mentally challenged. I contemplated ways to sink the ship.

Pretty sure you would have been in the clear if you were over international waters.

Cruising is for the newly wed and the nearly dead.

But seriously, if you have the chance to go on an ultra-luxury line like Seabourn or Crystal do it. Every cabin a suite and every room gets their own butler.
